I found myself on Grover Cleveland in Homosassa looking for a bite to eat when I remembered I've never gone to this place. So, I wandered in. The young lady working there was very friendly, offering up a welcoming greeting right when I walked in. After I sat down, she brought out a menu and gave me a minute to look it over. She took my drink order, quickly returning with my half and half sweet tea. I originally decided to try the grilled chicken sandwich, but unfortunately, they were out of chicken breasts for grilling. It happens sometimes, and she was very apologetic. So, my next choice was the Angus burger. It normally has lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and choice of cheese according to the menu, and I requested only American cheese. It's also served up with a couple choices for a side, and I elected to get tater tots.
Little bit of a wait for to cook time in order for the food to come out, but then again, this isn't a fast food joint. The wait is worth it though. The food came out piping hot, accompanied by a wonderful smell. The tater tots caught my attention first. They looked golden and crispy with light seasoning. They were in fact very crunchy on the outside, while soft and perfectly cooked on the inside. The seasoning they used complimented the tots quite well, and it was the tot seasoning giving off that wonderful aroma. The burger was cooked medium as requested, served on a toasted bun and topped with two slices of American. I did not really detect any seasoning on the burger itself, but the beef patty had a good flavor that held its own. It was very hot, juicy, and delicious. The portion size was pretty big, too. People with smaller appetites could easily make two full meals out of the order. Throughout my meal, the young lady working there was very attentive, outgoing, and courteous, quickly responding to any requests or questions. Definitely a place to stop in when you find yourself out that...
Read moreHad lunch there today for first time in this new location. Owners did a fantastic job with the building. Nice, clean, plenty of tables. My wife and I split their wing special and a burger. The smash burger was awesome! Everything about it from the meat to the bun was spot on. They even “brand” their name into the bun. Cute touch. Lightly seasoned fries were good too. The wings were hot, crispy and juicy. You can’t get much better than that! Flavor without the sauces was great but the sauces we had were excellent. Wife got the medium Buffalo and I got the mango habanero. Spot on too although I would have liked a little more heat lol. We had an excellent waitress too and like a forgetful old man, I forgot her name. She needs to be mentioned though because she did a great job! We really enjoyed the food and next time we’re trying other menu items (like the Philly cheese steak for one lol). Great place, the Cains really worked hard on this one! The other location was no slouch either though, just small. This is way better. I tell you...
Read moreAfter reading multiple reviews, we decided to give this place a go and try their wings.
The garlic and parmesan sauce was good, unfortunately, it was downhill from there. Being in the food service industry for many years, I am not one too quick to judge based on one visit, as anyone can have a bad day and we will give their wings another chance down the road.
The bad. These wings were way overcooked. So overcooked that the meat and skin had fused and hardened together. What little meat that was left and edible was very dry. I literally took a big chunk of the meat and tapped it on the table as it was so hard that it made a knocking sound.
I am going to assume the cook lost track of them and allowed them to cook too long as he prepared other orders.
If I was just rating this experience it would be 1 star, but I believe this was not how they are normally prepared based on the many positive reviews and so am leaving at 3 stars until I have the chance to give...
