When someone tells me to picture a mom n’ pop spot, this is it. Look no further than Tin Can Cafe because this place is awesome from start to finish.

My best friend and I were seated immediately and greeted by our server, Sarah, who made our brunch feel like eating at a friend’s house. She was friendly and helpful in the most genuine way.

She had our waters and coffees out in a flash, and I love the big mugs they serve the coffee in. We were given plenty of time to order, and once we did, our food came out quicker than I thought it would. And it looked so good!

I had the country fried steak breakfast, and made selections (which were included) of three sunny-side up eggs, home fries, and rye toast.

The country fried steak came out absolutely smothered in gravy. Might’ve been too much gravy for others but that’s what your toast is for. The eggs were -perfectly- cooked, and I was amazed with how photogenic they were. (I’m just saying, go look at that picture.) The slices of rye bread were not just one slice cut into two triangles. These were two full-sized slices of rye, toasted and buttered just right. And the home fries? OMG, y’all. They were seasoned thoroughly and made this meal one of the best I’ve ever had in Hudson.

To top it off, Sarah asked if we needed hot sauce, which is always a green flag to me, and they had 3-4 kinds if I remember right. Of course I got that Crystal Hot Sauce and drizzled generously.

It was so much food that I couldn’t finish it in one go, but it made for some amazing leftovers this morning!

Tin Can Cafe, I love what you’ve got going on and I’m so happy...

So we tried Jackie's Place this morning due to a recommendation from a local facebook group.

Our server was super helpful and nice but unfortunately I do not remember her name.

Onto the food. My boyfriend got a tex-mex omelette and it was huge. He liked it a lot. He kept saying how good it was. It had a little kick to it, probably from the jalapenos. His came with a side of home fries and toast.

I got the eggs Benedict but with tomato instead of Canadian bacon. It came with a side of home fries. They had messed up on one egg, but brought out one on the side to make up for it. I didn't really mind. The eggs were poached perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was heavenly. If I could soak everything in hollandaise sauce I probably would lol. My potatoes were cooked perfect.

They also have a giant display case with goodies (sorry no picture.) I got a cheese pastry. I am saving that for later.

Total was $18 before tip. We will definitely...

We waited to be seated without anyone even acknowledging that we were there for quite a while. We were seated and ordered. They were busy so when the waitress told us it would be a little bit of a wait since there were 2 larger parties in front of us. We said okay no problem. After 45 minutes tables around us that had come in after us started getting their food. One table that came in 30 minutes after us got their food before us. After about 55 minutes 4 of our 5 meals came out. We received a weak apology from the waitress and asked for the manager. We were told he was helping in the kitchen. At this point the resuraunt was about half empty but he couldn't be bothered to come talk to us. Food was okay but I don't think we...

Our waitress Stephanie was extremely sweet and accommodating today, answered all my questions about interesting lunch menu items and always answered with a big friendly smile and ingredient details, I had the steak skillet which you can clearly see is packed full of tender meat and very lightly seasoned potatoes, I could not finish it! My husband had biscuits with gravy and side of bacon and we shared a side of country fried steak, everything was great. Cream sauce needed a lot more pepper and toast barely had any butter on them but, those are our only 2 complaints, sweet tea was almost old fashion perfect!! 🫶 this was our 1st visit but won't be our last! Very clean and well maintained establishment
