Last night will absolutely be the last time I come to townies, which it is a shame because we live in a community near by and love our golf cart rides there.
We visited on October 1st. Didn't realize they had a performance so we did understand there would be delays. And we were ok with that. All was good except our Steak rice bowl. It came out like leather. We sent it back and did shrimp instead. When it came out, it was white rice and 4 shrimp ($17.00). We paid our bill and left upset.
I did call the next day and spoke with Ben the manager and he did apologize and was sincere. He did refund my 1 meal and offer to also replace it on him next time I come in.
So we decided to come in for dinner last night (oct 17th) Waitress came over for drink order. We asked for waters for the 3 of us and also 2 beers. She brought 1 water and forgot about the beer. I had to remind her as they sat out on the bar and was room temp by the time she got to us. Waitress was hard to find. We mentioned that we were told to ask for Ben that he would comp 1 meal. She said he's not here ill talk to manager. We proceed to order that rice bowl and we were told they were out of rice. (How do you run out of rice!!!) Go to publix and pick some up! So we settled for chicken wings and quesadilla. The chicken wings came out RAW sent them back and I are the quesadilla over a napkin because the waitress was completely oblivious and never brought side plates. To charge the prices you charge and eat over a napkin is nonsense. She then left our table and came back 15 minutes later to ask if we wanted the chicken wings replaced. Why didn't she ask when we told her they were raw. We said yes we would like a new batch. They sent back the same wings cooked further and they were like leather. I asked to speak to the manager just to have a intellectual conversation and he refused to come out. Example of poorly ran. This place has a good vibe at the bar. However your restaurant is God awful. Look at all of the other reviews they say the same thing. If you guys are understaff you should have removed some of the tables and not sat so many guests. This restaurant needs a complete management change and would be the best restaurant in Palm City. You guys can not charge the prices you are charging and give poor service and poor quality food. Eventually word will get around. This is a very small town hence your business name. To add. Waitress never asked to fill our waters and was hard to find to get our waters refilled. My wife only had 1 glass of water and we were thirsty. We've left in frustration. I waited 15 minutes for the manager to come out and he never showed. The owner needs...
Read moreVeronica and I embarked on a Florida-flavored escapade that led us to the captivating Townies Tavern in picturesque Palm City. Our expedition had revolved around property explorations, and what better way to cap off our day than with a high-energy visit to this vibrant gem? We were ready to soak up the Florida vibes and indulge in a feast for the senses!
The moment we stepped onto the scene, we were swept away by the charm of the outdoor tiki hut – our chosen perch for the evening. Bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun, we felt an immediate surge of excitement. And wouldn't you know it, our timing couldn't have been more serendipitous, as we found ourselves smack in the middle of happy hour! Just what we needed to beat the blazing Florida heat.
Our taste buds were treated to a carnival of flavors with the Tuesday special: 3 Tacos for an unbelievable $8.00. Brace yourself for the taste bud tango that ensued – each bite was a whirlwind tour of flavors, a symphony of spices and textures that transported us straight to the heart of a Florida fiesta.
But hold on tight, because the true headliner of the evening was none other than the Tavern's legendary wings. Drumroll, please, for the Tavern's wings – a masterpiece of culinary prowess that had us soaring on gusts of flavor! These wings weren't just wings; they were pure poetry in motion. The crispy exterior gave way to an explosion of succulent, saucy goodness that left us utterly mesmerized. We were in wing heaven, and our taste buds were doing the samba!
Let's give a round of applause to the brilliant minds behind the bar – our resident mixologists who conjured up cocktails as enchanting as a Florida sunset. And let's not forget the hospitality squad, whose warmth and attentiveness made us feel like cherished guests at a beachside villa.
Even Swampy, our trusty alligator companion, couldn't resist the siren call of Townies Tavern's culinary wonders. With an exuberant Gator CHOMP! Chomp! chomp!, he cast his vote of approval, sealing the deal on this Florida foodie paradise.
In a grand finale that's worthy of the Sunshine State, Veronica, Swampy, and I are thrilled to declare Townies Tavern an official recipient of the coveted "Vic's Picks" seal of approval! Your wings took us on an exhilarating gustatory journey through the heart of Florida, and for that, we salute you. Here's to Townies Tavern – where every bite is a celebration and every moment is a tropical...
Read moreLove the new outside area. Don’t have to worry about Covid as much. Third time eating there today. Was served raw chicken. Not a good thing. Hope I don’t get sick. Going to give it a couple more tries. Just very disappointed today.
Ate there again today got the same chicken meal. Was done perfect very delicious. They give you a lot of food make two meals out of this. Probably going to eat there tomorrow for lunch. With the outside area one of my new favorite places. Ate there about 10 times now tried the steak. Very lacking, very thin very tough. Flavor was OK. Seven dollar steak 25 bucks. Won’t be getting this one again. Hamburgers definitely a win. I’m going to try some other things on the menu I do like their mac & cheese. But they added some kind of funky cheese to it last night instead of the normal. Music is nice on Thursday and Friday night. It is packed have to come early. It rained wasn’t a very fun experience. All in all I’m going to give it a four at the moment because of the raw chicken and the thin steak. Haven’t eaten here in quite a while. It’s nice that the outside place is still there I love it the food is horrible worst I’ve ever had a waitress was great makes you wonder why a company like this key get it together this guy supposedly owns other restaurants. Luckily they took the food off the bill I told him I didn’t mind paying. My problem is do I go back and try it again. I do love the outside atmosphere with the TVs music music is quite raspy if you sit underneath the speaker. I think I’ll wait a couple of months to six months and try it again. If the food was good I would eat there a couple of times a week that’s how much I like the atmosphere I feel safer outside with Covid than inside. I just can’t believe a restaurant with this kind of potential has such bad food it just...
