Waffle House — Restaurant in Florida

What a nightmare. Place was filthy, prices were through the roof and despite no one at our table ordering anything with ham, every plate had random cubes of ham hidden throughout. From an extremely limited menu, for two adults and three kids we paid over $60 (the kids ordered a bowl of loaded hashbrowns and adults JUST a sandwhich). When asked about an incorrect item on the ticket, the woman caught an attitude and said beach prices were just higher. When prompted again about an item on the ticket we didn't order, she called the young girl over to fuss at her in front of us. We only saw our waitress when she rang us up and when she decided she wanted to make small talk while we ate. She didn't even take our order, actually none of the older employees save for the cook were actually working. They were all on phones or eating while the younger workers scrubbed the DISGUSTING floors and washed an overflowing sink of dishes while also serving customers. A table had to be "cleaned" before we could sit down despite the place having 7+ tables open. Even the windows and windowsills were disgusting. Wish I would have taken more pics. I work in the area. After getting off work some nightsI go in the Waffle House on Perdido Key Dr. The people are friendly. The food is good. However now there is a surcharge of 50 cents per egg. I don't mind a small surcharge but this is price gouging. I pay for the cost of the eggs in the price of the meal. So let's say eggs are $5.00 a dozen like in the grocery store ( but you get a bulk price). That would come to 41 cents per egg. So in my meal I'm paying 41 cents plus your profit increase on those eggs. 81 cents plus your profit plus your added surcharge of 50 cents per egg. I'm paying 91 cents per egg plus your profit margin on that egg. I WILL NO LONGER BE EATING AT WAFFLE HOUSE... I believe in supporting local businesses until they no longer care about the community. We usually love the waffle house. But we stopped at one in Gulf Shores Alabama and it was the WORST service ever! We came in and there were 8 workers behind the counter, and maybe 2 working with customers. No one greeted us. We waited 10 minutes to get a seat, not because they were full but 5 tables were uncleaned and Vic we 3rd with dirty dishes. When we finally ordered the waitress was uncaring and unenthusiastic, and had to call back to the back just to get a cook to come back. The o.j. was watered down terribly. There were 5 of us, and they brought out 3 of the drinks and we had to ask for the rest halfway through the meal.
