Doozle's Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Florissant

My family and I have been patronizing this Florissant business a couple times a week for the last 3 months. However we don't live in Florissant and actually go out of our way. We have even treated my son's entire basketball team to an ice cream night after winning their game. Thus far the ice cream has been good and the service has been hit or miss but nothing major.

However, tonight was the worse experience we've ever had here. We went through the drive through and asked for hard ice cream and a banana boat with no nuts. The young girl working the window tells us that they are not serving hard ice cream any more tonight. Now keep in mind this was 14 minutes before closing. So we change it to get just custard. We get to the window and a guy comes to the window to take the money. To my surprise, in the back I saw a guy, get this, actually scooping hard ice cream.

My husband asked why did you guys stop serving hard ice cream? He says we haven't, we stop at 11pm when we close. So we inform the guy of the girl's dishonesty about simple ice cream. To which the response was I'm not sure why you were told that. So he adjusted our order and gave us the hard ice cream we originally wanted but was told we couldn't have.

We finally get the ice cream, and yep you guess ed it, it had nuts all over it. We told the young lady (same one that took the original order), the banana boat we asked for with no nuts. She looks at us with agitation and said well I didn't hear you say that. Then she says, well you can just scrape them off or I can scrape them off. At this point we were speechless. Thank God my husband didn't have a nut allergy.

We will definitely be taking a break on patronizing this business. We will have to find another ice...

Terrible service during a small drive through order sign replacement. I was told its open by the employees and to order and as myself and 3 kids were looking over the menu and ordering as we went through it. We got to orders in and was ordering another they pull the sign,take in inside the building and another menu never comes back. We're sitting there looking at workers like we were ordering and now there's no menu and you didn't bring one back out?? They just turned and continued talking as we didn't just ask what the heck we were ordering... Drove to the window and that employee was absolutely no help would even hand us the paper one she said if you can see this one you can 9der more or you can go online and look at the menu. Are you kidding me right now?? My 2 others kids as I said done just keep what we ordered and was driving away said awww man so stopped and bought there's while the other got upset she didn't know what to order and that she didn't get to order and have to go else where and not their favorite icecream place. Booo you today boo on all of you... Even asked for a discount for the weird trouble no one could fix that worked there....

I just wanted to share a picture of my experience from Monday, October the 21st 2024. I ordered a m&m concrete as I always do, but when I got home to enjoy it, I was confused, because there was literally (at the most) 10 M&Ms in a small concrete. I literally kept eating it because I was baffled thinking the m&Ms were hiding in the fluff of custard or at the bottom.

I ended up speaking with a manager on the 22nd and he gladly said he will replace it. When I got there I let them know my name at the speaker, and I drove up to the window. When I got to the window, a man was there with a cup of m&ms in his hand, showing me how much they put in a small. Though I appreciated his reference, I was confused as to why he thought I needed to know the amount that comes in a standard small m&m concrete. That is something the person who made my concrete, on Monday needed to know, not me. I know!

I just wanted to include the picture so they can understand that I was not confused (thinking I needed to have more m&ms than what comes in the standard small). Too many m&ms would change the whole dynamics of the treat - so that was not my complaint. Just...
