As a big momo enthusiast, I decided to give Hamro Nepalee Restaurant a try—and I’m glad I did. I experimented with their momo jhol (medium spice level), and it turned out to be absolutely amazing—rich, flavorful, and comforting. I later ordered a veg momo to go, which was also above average and well-prepared.
The place does have very low footfall, which might explain the slow service. While I was willing to overlook that for the food, what surprised me was when I ordered butter naan and was instead served paratha—an odd substitution without any explanation.
That said, if you’re visiting for authentic Nepali dishes like momo and thukpa, this place is a hidden gem and worth a stop. But I wouldn’t recommend it for North Indian fare—they need to work on better understanding and executing that part of the menu.
I hope they improve the service speed and pay closer attention to details like menu accuracy. With a few tweaks, this could become a go-to spot for Himalayan cuisine...
Read moreFrom 4 years ago I said, I like to try new things. Mango Lassi $2.99 is an orange mango yogurt drink. I ordered a vegetarian dish about $6 and choose spice level 7. Ginger and garlic can be spicy. It was good too, as was the service. My car was at Firestone. I returned today, it had been too long. Prices at most places have risen during Covid. Today unsurprisingly I spent more. Mango Lassi $4.99 and Jhol Chicken Momo $10.99. I choose the spice level 7. It was like a spicy chili that cleared my sinuses. I loved it but understood why the server recommended spice level 5. In part due to the advice, I did not take, I changed my rating to a 5 star from 4. The drink was a wise choice to cool down the spice. 7 is hot so I definitely wouldn’t go higher. The spice was in the soup. The dumplings have flavor but are not spicy. I...
Read moreLove this place. I got medium chicken curry thinking I could handle it and it took me out. I had to mix some chicken stock and water with it to make it bearable but otherwise it was delicious. Never liked potstickers until I tried momo’s from this place. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
I would give five stars but I think there needs to be a spiciness level indicated on your menu. Your medium curry is not like Grace of India’s medium curry. It’s way spicier which makes me wonder if I was just given a spicier curry than I asked for. I’m not upset about it at all but I just wish I knew for sure if your medium curry is as spicy as what I got or if Ingot something else cause I definitely don’t want to get mild next time but I don’t know if I can handle medium again lol. Either way it was...
