Was surprised to see a Filipino restaurant on this side of town...... everything over here is Chinese food, Mexican, wing spots and fast food places.
My son found it while talking about driving to Duluth to his usual Filipino spot for sisig. Sisig is an unusual dish....they use jowl and other pig parts, stew it down and put it in the plate with white rice and an egg.
Unfortunately I can't tell you what the food tastes like because only my son ate. I wanted to buy the chicken skewers with the barbecue sauce but after the gentleman at the counter told me that all that they give is two chicken skewers for $12.99 I decided not to order. I'm sorry but that's just an outrageous price for two skewers! We usually eat Filipino food in Duluth and I understand it and the influence from Spain.....there's just too much pork on the menu....even the lumpia has pork.
My son enjoyed the sisig and will probably be back. Two stars for good sisig.... would have been more if the chicken skewer price wasn't so high.
Nice to see a different type of food over here. Will see how long this restaurant stays open in this...

Read moreI absolutely love visiting Filipino restaurants—the kindness and welcoming atmosphere are always such a highlight. This place had that same warmth, which I really appreciated.
That said, the food quality and flavor fell a bit short compared to other Filipino spots I’ve visited across the U.S. I started with the chicken lumpia, which had a decent amount of filling, but the texture reminded me of ground chicken from a tube—less fresh and more processed.
I also ordered the Bistek Tagalog. While the portion was generous, the flavor didn’t quite hit the mark. The beef tasted reheated, was served room temperature with some areas still slightly cold, and it ended up being a little dry inside. The soy sauce-based broth looked great but didn’t fully make up for the meat’s lack of tenderness.
On a much brighter note, the ube ice cream was absolutely fantastic—the best I’ve had anywhere. Creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor.
All in all, the service and ambiance were lovely, and while a couple of the savory dishes missed the mark for me, that ube ice cream definitely...
