I’ve only been to the Inca once, so my experience may have been an isolated incident. That said, my one experience was very disappointing. The portions were large, but food was bland (we actually took most of it home and recooked it with added flavoring). Our waitress was courteous and mostly attentive. She had a large group she was trying to manage, so I have no complaints considering her situation. All and all, by the time we were ready to leave, I had concluded that I personally had no desire to return to the Inca, but I did not have any negative feelings toward the restaurant either. It wasn’t until the bill came that the real problems began. We went on a ‘kids eat free’ day and I had specifically asked our waitress if we needed to purchase drinks for our kids to eat free; she responded ‘no.’ However, after the bill arrived, we were told that we were being charged for the children’s meals because we had not ordered drinks. When I spoke to the manager about the situation, she confirmed that we had not ordered drinks and would be charged for their meals - my kids were already outside by this point and we were done with our meal. When I told the manager that I specifically asked the waitress about drinks, the manager's response was that the waitress ‘hardly speaks English.’ After further insistence, the manager eventually took the kids meals off the bill, but by that point I was fairly upset and disappointed. I tried to contact the restaurant directly the next day via email to let them know that I had a poor experience and I specifically stated that I felt it was more professional to handle these sort of situations in private rather than via ratings sites (like this one). It’s been over 6 months and I have not heard back from them. So, I’m posting my advice here.
Advice for the restaurant owners and/or managers:
Support your staff and don’t belittle them by saying things like they ‘hardly speak English.’ You hired them, if for some reason they do not understand a customer’s question and accidentally give an incorrect answer, you can use it as a training opportunity. Or, even better, call it a simple misunderstanding and move on.
Don’t argue with your customers over valid concerns. I’m not saying that customers are ‘always right’, but when they are right, don’t argue with them!
If someone reaches out to offer some advice (especially if they try to do it privately), you really should respond to their email.
Finally, (and I know this is a personal preference) you should add some flavoring to your beans...they taste like they came straight from a can.
While you will not be receiving my patronage in the future, I hope you take this review to heart and I wish you the best of luck...
Read moreMexican food varies all over the place relative to quality, taste, and authenticity. I thought Inca was way up there in all three categories and truly worthy of a high rating. Staff sometimes speak Spanish to each other and can communicate with customers in that language, but English diction was clear for those of us who do not speak the language. We were seated immediately upon arrival, and the server appeared equally quickly. Chips and salsa were brought to the table - one bowl each of chips and salsa for each pair of us. The salsa had a bit of a kick, but I like spicy. The 4 of us split two dishes: fajitas, and a pork burrito. I had half of the burrito. It had good sized chunks of pork rather than pulled. They were tender and delicious as was the burrito itself. The fajitas got accolades too. Serving sizes are ample. I could not possibly have eaten the whole burrito but wished I had ordered a full one to have the other half at home later. I also got a side of very tasty green chili. Had some left over so you can guess what I had with my eggs at breakfast. Service was prompt. All orders were taken, repeated for accuracy, and correct when we got the food. Servers checked a couple times to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Drinks kept topped off. I was almost overwhelmed by the number of available menu items, but they probably have something to suit almost any taste. I was counting how many times I'd have to return to taste all the things that I thought I might like to try but ran out of fingers and toes! Restroom was spotless. They express their appreciation of the military with a 15% discount. Not sure if they discount first responders too but hope so. Give Inca a try. I don't think you'd be disappointed. To the contrary, I...
Read moreHave been coming here for a couple years and usually pretty consistent quality of meals and service. Haven’t been in for a couple months and to sad to say tonight was our last visit. Not sure if lack of staffing or new folks in the kitchen are factors but the overall quality of meals, and service has downgraded.
The 2 stars are for the pork verdes, the tasty salsa, and the attempt at remedying an over-cooked T-bone steak. The server discounted the menu item after offering to make a new one. The last time I ordered this the steak was full sized and cooked to medium. Tonight it was less than a half an inch and cooked to chewy well done. It will be my puppy’s dinner tomorrow.
Overall the food options in FoCo have been less than stellar before and during the pandemic and this was a great place to come for lunch, dinner or to go.
Suggestions to improve overall experience would be to have dishes be made to that of the photos in the menu like they have been in the past, if something is unsatisfactory, then comp the entree, welcome/acknowledge guests as soon as possible. 3 employees walked by and the host was less than 5 feet away- a simple welcome or be right with you makes a difference. Sad to add Inca to the growing list of mediocrity in FoCo.
This experience has reinforced the value of hospitality - and how my family will choose to spend our dollars elsewhere or...
