If you are from New York like we are and looking for a good New York-style Chinese restaurant look no furtherā¦this is it!!! We moved to Charlotte, NC in 2005 and Iāve been searching high and low for a Chinese restaurant like the ones weāre used to and came upon this one by chance while getting breakfast at the Fort Mill Family Restaurant (diner) next door. After reading the menu we had a strong feeling this is one weāve been looking for all this time. We went back to pick up dinner on another day and oh my gosh. Finally we found our go-to Chinese restaurant. Not to mention they are so nice and polite. They treat you with respect which is not what weāve seen at all the other places weāve found. They even sell food by the pint and quart. Most places here only offer one size and itās large so your forced to by it whether you want it or not and pay an exuberant price for it. They also have ALL the appetizers I love including shrimp rolls which a lot of the other places donāt offer. My husband is soooo happy they make his favorite baby shrimp with chicken and broccoli which is so rare to find. It takes a little longer to get to but only about 15 minutes so we call the order in before we leave to go pick it up and itās ready just when we get there piping hot. Itās so worth the trip. We love, love, love this place and are so glad we stumbled across...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually don't leave bad reviews for small business but I had to. For the first time I ordered a small take away of a beef dish, I was told it will be good enough for one person. The taste was good but the quantity was less. I realized it was small box and thought I will try their large boxes next time for a take out. Though they claim the large box will be good enough for two people it will only serve one. I don't have a large appetite usually.
Ordered a large hot and spicy beef. It was just all bell pepper and onion. May be 5 slices of thinly sliced beef. I called the next day to leave a feed back and was transferred to the restaurant manager. The response was we do quality checks before sending food out and if you can bring the food back to us we can take a look at it and have it corrected.
I tossed the food away the previous night but any way wouldn't have driven 20 minutes for a replacement. Bad customer service and definitely not worth the money. There are better places to eat.
Bye...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSince I moved in Fort Mill I've been looking for something to replace my old favorite local hole in the wall China II near Tega Cay...This place seems to be a similar menu (maybe a franchise), but not all the dishes are exactly the same. I liked the fried rice & dumplings better at China II, but the Kung Pao and Crab rangoon better at China East. I am a bit torn at which is better but I think it is China II by a nose because the dumplings at China East are inferior by far. On the positive China East has the best Kung Pao I've had anywhere in the area (still not as perfect, but the closest I've had to perfect for sure). Another complaint I have with them is that some of their dishes go REALLY skimpy on the meat, while others are fine. Overall I like this place and will be ordering my Chinese takeout from here most of the time.
Also as someone else mentioned....stay away from the bourbon chicken. It is my least favorite of that dish that I've...
