Critical review with specific details….. I recently learned about this establishment when I drove by it a couple of times a few weeks previous. I noticed the parking lot was filled and then I checked the reviews. A local place has two instances of why a person would patronize it, one would be the locals know it’s good, or there really isn’t anywhere else to go. I have always thought that people who rave about BBQ, really don’t know BBQ. This time, I have to say that based on the reviews, there is no other BBQ place around, and they are use to sub standard BBQ.
Now, let’s look at the critical side, the spare ribs were smoked, when ribs are smoked, they need be kept warm and wet in a hot box. If your a restaurant, your hot box is another key to moist and tasty ribs. If not then they dry out. This round of ribs were dry for the thin ribs, usually end cuts. Most rib joints neglect to serve a full platter of center cuts, so they polish off the pound of ribs with dry ends. Smoked chicken should not be rubbery. Yes it was moist, but to eat it was another story. For all extensive purposes I wanted to ask why corn on the cob was a premium side? Because the macaroni and cheese was about questionable as to where it came from. The baked potato was just slightly warm, no steam from it at all. Now the buttered toast was good and that’s about the extent of it.
When we were offered to speak with the Kitchen Mgr, he decided to just adjust the bill and let us know via our waitress he was busy. The waitress was awesome and very sweet, the atmosphere is delightful and clean. The smell of smoked meats makes this a great place. I just wish the quality of the prepared food was better. On scale from 1-10: Service/Server-10, cleanliness- 8 (bathroom-5, it needs to be checked and cleaned hourly, since it’s a single person capable room) atmosphere-7, Parking-10, spare ribs-1, chicken-1, baked potatoe-1, garlic toast-10. I don’t think I can return and give them another chance, I would have expected better for $40+ Based on the reviews, it also appears they don’t respond to posts. Maybe they don’t know, maybe they don’t care, maybe it doesn’t...
Read more**Moonswiners BBMoonswiners BBQ in Vero Beach, Florida, is a culinary destination that offers an intriguing juxtaposition of commendable service and delectable flavors, albeit with a caveat.
The restaurant's service is nothing short of excellent. Whether you choose to dine in or opt for the convenience of their drive-thru, the staff's attentiveness and professionalism are noteworthy. They ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience, setting a high standard for customer service in the food industry.
The food, too, is a highlight at Moonswiners BBQ. Each dish is a testament to the art of barbecue, with flavors that are rich, robust, and tantalizingly tangy. The taste is sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate, making every bite a delightful experience.
However, the restaurant falls short when it comes to portion sizes. Given the price point, one might expect generous servings that match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, this is not the case at Moonswiners BBQ. The portions are somewhat modest, which may leave patrons questioning the value for their money.
In conclusion, Moonswiners BBQ excels in service and taste but leaves room for improvement in its portion-to-price ratio. It's a solid choice for barbecue enthusiasts who prioritize flavor and service over quantity. However, those seeking a hearty meal might find the portions lacking relative...
Read moreMay 2021: Ok I come to town at least once a month for work and I've always seen this place busy and packed at lunch time with a line of cars for the drive-thru around the building. I decided to stop today. After waiting about 5 or so minutes in the Drive-Thru line I decided to park and go inside. I placed an order for a small barbecue pork sandwich combo. It comes with a sandwich some fries coleslaw and a drink. I thought a prank was being played on me when I got into my vehicle and opened the bag. This thing looks smaller than a child's meal! Now yes I did order a small, but for $8 I was not expecting this! After the initial disappointment it was going to be hard to wow me and as expected the food itself did not either.
5/13/21 - I decided to give this restaurant a second chance. Not surprisingly I ended up with the same result. This time instead of a pork sandwich I ordered a grilled chicken. The chicken was surprisingly larger, but when taking a bite it was extremely dry and as you can see in the picture almost paper thin. I used the drive-thru this time and from the time I got in line to the time I got my sandwich had to have been 20 minutes. The parking lot is always packed with cars and the inside with people. I can't understand how this place is this busy with this many five star...
