We chose this place with hope they would serve us some breakfast classics that we had prechecked on the menu prior to visiting Chicken âN The Egg. My wife got the big breakfast and I got the crispy chicken and eggs combo. Our waiter was great got our drinks and refills fast she did her job 10/10. She was very sweet and interacted with my son who is just 18 months old which I appreciate dearly. In terms of the food, it was subpar. The chicken seemed to be fried fresh but once I bit into it I could tell it was just dropped in the fryer to be reheated. Every bite felt like chewing on beef jerky, tough, dry, and stringy. I got a workout simply from attempting to eat the chicken and would not recommend this to anyone who canât bench atleast 225. The eggs I ordered over easy which were cooked to the correct doneness but once I tried to cut the eggs with my fork there was a odd sliminess that was unusual. Iâve had plenty of over easy eggs and I like my eggs runny which I can recognize but this was a different kind of texture I hadnât seen before. I was able to stomach the breakfast potatoes with some ketchup but they also seemed not fresh. My wife allowed me to eat a link of sausage and a piece of bacon from her meal since mine had went to shambles. The sausage was your standard sausage link which was good. The bacon was definitely microwave bacon. To top this all off I noticed someone from the kitchen looking over at our booth a few times while we were eating in a odd manner which now makes sense because I would be worried of the plate coming back if I served it to someone liked it was served to me. Price was steep our bill came out to over 50$. I donât recommend this place unless you just really like friendly staff.
PS: To clarify my use of âfreshâ the food was hot but tasted reheated. Almost like it had been tossed in the fridge since yesterday or the day before just waiting to be dropped in the fryer or warmed...
Read moreLocated on U.S. 98 near the sound in fort Walton Beach me and my wife came on May 2nd 2024 and enjoyed a breakfast meal. We were greeted by the employees as soon as we entered the establishment and were seated promptly. The business appeared from the outside to be jam packed as the whole parking lot was but but to our surprise they had a lot of tables ready to go. Once seated we ordered our drinks which I got the caramel iced coffee for 3.99 and they do have it spiked if thatâs your thing either with vodka or rum. My wife ordered herself an orange mimosa to start off the day which was a very good balance of orange to champagne and garnished with a fresh orange slice. I then ordered the carnitas omelette. The carnitas omelette had tender pulled pork, green peppers, onions, salsa, sour cream and topped with a tomatillo sauce. Opinions it was I think it was a lot going on but it was savory and definitely enough food to make you full. The meal came with a side which you get to choose between pancakes, home fries, or waffles. I choose the pancakes and it definitely wasnât a bad choice they were nice and fluffy very well cooked. My wife ordered the build your own omelette with her own choices of meats and veggies which the cooks definitely did a great job and was a lot of food she couldnât finish. My wife ordered the potatoâs as her side and I will say they were probably some of the best home fries we have tasted which were crispy on the outside but nice and soft on the inside with a salty and peppery well seasoned side. In total we spent around $51 for the both of us with multiple drinks. The prices are about average for any restaurant but well worth the price if youâre going out. The food, service, and atmosphere was very nice I would give them an 8.5/10 and would recommend to friends and family. Thank yall we will...
Read morePassing thru with hubby (đ Santa Jack) and momma, on our way to Destin Commons. No wait - timed that just right because there was definitely a wait when we were leaving!
Our server ... Jenna was a delight! She greeted us with a genuine, glowing smile that when it reached her eyes, it lit up the room.
We asked for a hot chocolate for đ Santa, a hot caramel coffee for mom, and an iced caramel mocha coffee for me. Sweet Jenna came back with our beverages... Santa's hot chocolate was topped with a beautifully crafted, fluffy white cloud of whipped cream, mom's hot coffee also, and mine, only ours had a sprinkling of nutmeg on top. That extra touch was fantastic! The smell wafted in the air, delivering the spirit of Christmas.
I had the Big Breakfast T-Bone Steak. Cooked mid-rare. Delicious! I'm low-carb and skipped the potatoes. Had the chocolate chip pancakes boxed (in case we come across a homeless person on the way). My eggs were just right.
Mom had California Benedict Breakfast. She said she enjoyed the spinach and avocados especially. This is a big breakfast. She couldn't eat it all. Good sharable- just sayin..
đ Santa had a sausage breakfast sandwich - Ho! Ho! Ho! He said! With a twinkle in his eye and a jiggle in his now full belly.
Thanks, Jenna and all the staff at Chicken N' The Egg, for giving us a sensational send-off! đ
Off to shopping we go!
đ Santa will be singing with The Emerald Coast...
