Salvatori’s Waynedale — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

I believe in 2nd chances! I've been to a few of the other Salvatori's and have been pleased every time. With the new one on Bluffton Rd - close to my house - I was excited to finally have decent Italian food near me. I am Italian and can cook very well, but sometimes I like to let someone else do the work. We wanted to-go pizza, and I almost ordered a few other dishes. But, there will be time to try out everything. We got one all meat pizza and one cheese pizza and a large Caesar salad. First thoughts on the pizza - it smells great! Looked great! Then . . . first bite . . . ooh - too much salt. I can taste the sauce and it's very flavorful, but the salt is just too much. I like salt. When it comes to craving things, I'm a salt craver as opposed to a sugar craver. With each bite, it was just a disappointment because of the salt. I really do hope they back off on the salt. We don't have really good pizza places this side of town outside of the chains, and most of those are janky. So, I'll try again and hope they chill out on the salt shaker. The salad - large Caesar for $10ish. I mean . . that's a good price for large, but this was a small salad. Come on, now - it's lettuce, croutons and some parmesan. There's no reason to be so chintzy on the lettuce like that. And, they forgot the dressing. Not even so much as some fresh lemon juice. So, like I said . . . Come for pizza, stay for the beer!

I am unable to stress how much I love the pizza at this location. I'm normally a super deep dish pizza guy, but the thin crust of the pizza here is superb. It is just soft enough that I can fold it, but solid enough that I don't need to. I don't know why that resonates with my taste buds the way it does, but it will keep me coming back

The Copper Lager beer that is custom brewed for them by Hop River is a real gem as well! In a craft-beer world that has become over saturated with increasingly bizarre variations of IPA style beer, finding a lager that just touches the border on being an amber ale is really refreshing.

I have probably been here about 10 times since it has opened, and I plan to keep visiting as long as they keep the pizza and beer flowing.

Service has always been good as well! If I had one complaint, it's that the beer is in cans. I would love to have the lager fresh off the tap!

Wonderful food and HUGE portions. I'm not exaggerating when I say that my entree could feed 3-4 people and my husbands calzone was enough for 2!

Service- our waitress was attentive and kept up with things. The manager was also very hands on, helping staff and not at all hesitant to jump in where needed.

When we pulled up we were surprised to see that they share a building with a gas station, but when you step in the restaurant you totally forget it. The atmosphere feels like any other nice eatery and even though in the same building it's completely separate with no walkway in between - it truly more of a shopping strip.
