Stopped by this super cute shop today after I read the name and saw it said it was a cake donut shop while driving by it and was so excited by the idea of this shop.
They have a fantastic selection of flavors and toppings for their mini cake donut creations. It was incredibly difficult to pick which one I wanted to try, but you don’t have to get just one as you can get a dozen and try all the flavors you want!
I got the vanilla bean and sugar and my husband got the strawberry cheesecake one. They were both simply amazing!!! I am already regretting not getting a box of a dozen. 😭
I’m a big fan of cake donuts already and I can say Batter and Beans have perfected them. Their cake donuts have a perfectly cooked outside with a melt in your mouth inside. Not all cake donuts are the same in quality and these are hands down the best I’ve ever had. They expertly avoided the problem of them being heavy or dense like a lot of cake donuts often are. They’re also a genius smaller “mini” size and honestly I think their “mini” size is an ideal size for a cake donut. Because they’re smaller, they also make trying two or more flavors easier to do without feeling like you’ve had way too much or feeling full like larger cake donuts very easily make you feel.
My husband had a hot and freshly brewed coffee, and he said the coffee was really good too!
The owner we who helped us today was super kind and helpful. The experience overall was great and they felt very welcoming.
I’m so excited to go back and try many more flavors especially the cinnamon roll flavor.
I hope everyone tries this place out and gives them some love because they have created a such a delicious and unique spin on the specialty donut or...
Read moreOne afternoon after school, we went searching for donuts as a snack and happened to stumble upon the sweetest little donut shop. We arrived just before closing, and I believe the owner himself was inside, greeting customers with a warm smile. The display was filled with so many tempting options that it was hard to choose. I decided on the “TCU” donut, while my granddaughter happily picked out the red, white, and blue sprinkle donut, which I believe was called the “Spider-Man.”
What made this place stand out was that the donuts were made fresh to order. They were a delicious cake batter style, topped with icing and colorful sprinkles. The outside was crispy while the inside stayed soft and fluffy—absolutely delightful. While the donuts were a little on the sweet side for me, my granddaughter enjoyed every single bite with pure joy.
Another pleasant surprise came when she needed to use the restroom. As we were leaving, I noticed they had a soap dispenser designed at a child-friendly height. It’s rare to see that kind of thoughtfulness, and I truly appreciated the detail. Guests can choose to sit inside or outside, and we opted for the outdoor seating, enjoying the quiet atmosphere and people-watching. This charming shop is definitely...
Read moreBiggest disappointment in the history of Westcliff neighborhood. This place has so much potential. The owner does an outstanding job of hiring the right people. They are exceptionally friendly and very knowledgeable but the owner is clueless in terms of product. I walked in and they gave the best service of any donut shop I have ever been to in 30 years but they don't carry real donuts. If you are looking for traditional donuts (real donuts) you will not find a single one. No cinnamon rolls, no eclairs, no Boston creme, no traditional chocolate, no traditional glazed, no traditional fritter. The best selling donuts in history and they don't carry a single one. They don't carry dough. ALL their items are made of cake batter. In other words ALL their items are coffee cake items not donuts made of dough. They also have McDonald's Disorder / Starbucks Syndrome - under-portioned and overpriced because their items are mini sized so there is zero value. They would have gotten roughly 16 orders a month from me if they carried chocolate, glazed, cinnamon roll, fritters or at least blueberry cake donuts. Every item I saw was overpriced garbage so I didn't buy anything. I walked out and went to a place that carries...
