El Puerto — Restaurant in Fort Worth

CALL for pricing the menu online is wrong and they won’t update it. I told the girl when I went to pick up my order(not in a bad way) I just asked why I was being charged $14 something when online it says $11 she got the restaurant menu and said no it always been like that kinda mad about it. i told her I said online I don’t need to see your menu I’m just telling you that y’all need to update it online because it’s wrong🙄 the way she acted did get me mad no need for all that.no one gave me my to go order she says it’s over there(top of bar table).Anyway besides that little issue I love the food caldo de mariscos is good depending what cook made it sometimes it has a lot of fish and shrimp sometimes 2-3 of each . I have been here three or four times over the last few months. It is convenient in location to my house and my Childrens school. I have ordered a few things items between my visits, ranging from tacos, to soup, a chimichanga, fajitas and even the enchiladas. The food has been warm, filling, and very tasty, it, however, lacks a bit of flavor and spice to it. The chips and salsa are good. The chips are always warm. Margaritas are good. A little overpriced. The service is usually very attentive, however, the last couple of times my drink ( not alcohol) has ran empty numerous time throughout my visit. That is a big deal for me. El Puerto reminds me of the Tex-Mex restaurants I went to as a kid: huge plates of rice and beans; everything is a shade of brown or yellow and covered in sauce or cheese; tacos, burritos, chalupas, and enchiladas dominate the menu with a handful of other options like fajitas, rellenos, and mole.

The food is good but there are almost no vegetarian options. Cheese enchiladas and the chile relleno were the only I found. Homemade salsa is about the only fresh thing you'll find, and it is tasty.

Prices are good. Lunch specials (mostly enchilada and taco plates) range from $5-6, and almost everything is under $10.
