I absolutely LOVE pioneer donuts. Their donuts are, hands-down, the best I have ever had.
(please pardon the following statements, as they are not politically correct, and I am not saying any of this out of racism)
It is owned by some Asian people that are there only on the weekends, if that.
There are two sweet Hispanic people that work there every single day, come rain/shine/sleet/snow. A young man who is the baker/cook, and a woman who serves you/rings up the order. Their only days off are days the store is closed -- which I believe is only limited to Christmas Day and maybe New Year's Day. I wish I knew her name, but the Hispanic woman behind the counter is ALWAYS kind, obviously hardworking, and does it all with a smile.
There is a tip jar that I frequently put $$$ into, and I HOPE AND PRAY that those tips are given to the two who are there day in and day out. If I ever find out that they aren't given the tip jar at the end of the day, I will be so unbelievably upset, as I know hundreds of other customers would be as well. I may just hand her the tip so I know it's going into her well-deserved pockets.
Anyways, if you're anywhere close to pioneer donuts, I highly recommend you get there before 7:30-8, as there will be a line out the door on a daily basis!!! They truly...
Read moreI'm not exactly sure why this place is so popular. The donuts weren't anything special when I tried them and the service has always been dissapointing when I do go. I've gone about 4 times on different days and different times of the day. One thing I notice is that they never make enough donuts for even 2 hours before they close. If you are a donut shop, you should plan accordingly to at least make it to the last hour with enough of the basic donuts. Something else that dissapointed me was the reaction from the people that work there. I went in on a weekday about two and a half hours before they closed and when I arrived, it was slim pickings. A few glazed donut options and cake donuts with a few pigs in a blanket. I decided to walk out and the customer behind me jokingly said something along the lines of wow, not a ton of options and the woman working responded stating that he just showed up too late. Overall, I think they should produce enough donuts to make it into the last hour with the basic options (donut holes, chocolate donuts, glazed donuts, jelly-filled), and find a better way to react when confronted about the...
Read moreThe owner helped me realize yesterday that I’ve been a loyal customer for 21 years. So since they’ve started the business when I was 5! I’ve since moved 30 mins from the area, and I’m still a frequent customer! I’ve never tasted a better sausage roll, or been treated with the same kindness, and felt as seen and appreciated by a business like pioneer donut! Like I said I was 5 when they opened the door, and since the day my son could have donuts he has had pioneer donuts, and the owner no matter if he comes or not makes sure he has an extra donut or two on her to spoil him! If 21 years of business doesn’t show you enough evidence to trust they’re the best let this review be the reason you go visit! They are the best not just around town, but in the state… maybe even the country! I’ve still yet to find a comparable donut shop! 10/5 stars for the best donut store ever!!! Kindness 10/10, prices 10/10, customer service 10/10,...
