Vallarta Seafood & Grill — Restaurant in Fort Worth

Update 2021....wife and I came in to eat, it's been one of her favs for a couple of years. We saw a roach on the wall that our table was connected to. We sat there and saw the roach walk onto our table, walk around and go under the table. We brought it to the attention of our server and she said I'll tell the manager. She came back, after a while and said that they had just exterminated and that it was probably about to die. That's it, didn't bother to offer a different table or try to remove the roach. Then she proceeded to tell us a story about when she worked elsewhere and saw rats in the kitchen... Like that was supposed to make our experience less bad or our current dinner we were eating more appetizing. She never ONCE apologized to us or discounted our meal or anything. I came so close to standing up and saying out loud, in the dining room, "gross... A roach" but my wife wouldn't let me. We didn't finish our meal out of disgust. Her lack of apology or concern for our disgust lost our business.

Original post..... My wife wanted to try some new seafood so we stopped in. It was mother's day so there was a wait, 10 minutes wasn't too bad. The horchata was decent, I've had better-had worse. She ordered a fried fish and shrimp combo. The portion was good, enough to fill you up. However it was a little bland,like they didn't season the breading before frying... She had to add the salsa from our chips and salsa... Which was plenty spicy by the way but the chips were also bland.. No salt. The rice was good. I ordered ceviche and a small shrimp cocktail.. The ceviche was good. The shrimp cocktail was kind of bland also, i had to add my own spice to it. Isn't cocktail supposed to have a tobasco kick to it? The service was a little slow but it was also mother's day so we had to be reasonable. The prices were fair also. I would recommend this place just for the portions and...

We waited ONE HOUR for our food our waitress kept walking past us plenty of times not even acknowledging us. After noticing that other people where getting there food the people that had been sat down way after us and had bigger parties. I finally asked the waitress how much longer on our food she looked surprised and asked “did I take your order already?” I got up and she stated that she was going to go check on our food only to return with “ they are working on it we are very busy” I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a child and we have never waited that long for food not even when they are super busy. I asked for the check on the drinks she stated it was fine. After brining it up to the manager all she had to say was “oh ok I’ll talk to her.” What a disappointment AND on Mother’s Day!!!! And no we never got our food we drove back to burleson and went to Applebee’s and NO OUR FOOD DID NOT TAKE ONE HOUR...

Every time I go there nice friendly service. Food always great and the seafood is perfect. The lunch specials are amazing and well priced, food prices have gone up but unfortunately their prices have to affect that also. Well worth it. Go to another seafood restaurant and some will print the price directly on the menu. Stand alone and independent places put Market Price. I have ordered the seafood soup. Delicious. The whole fish fried. Delicious. The beef fajita. Tender and amazing. My friend from Seattle came to visit and he is a big fan of Calle Doce in Dallas and goes there the entire time he is here. I recommended this place and not only did he attempt to go here every day, along with Terry Blacks,but brought his family from Mansfield, They could not rave more about the food and that hole in the wall restaurant is was. And they were amazed by the food and service Love this lace keep doing...
