A GOOD OLE TIME

This sounds awful but we wanted to grab a drink before getting back on the road. So I'll clarify. We grabbed ONE drink. :) The drive up the 1(01) can be um, tedious and long with stretches of boring - especially at night time when you lose sight of the coastal views and stretches of trees. Nighttime was coming soon so we grabbed our beers quickly.

This bar was right on the main road through town and it was cute. A little dark inside, but that's probably nice on some nights. We talked to a couple of locals. One girl told me she lived here in town "an hour away, up the mountain". Oh my! How glad I was that I don't live up a mountain.

The bar had lots of seats and a pool table in the middle. The best thing was the deck out back. It had heating lamps (that we probably should have turned on since it was pretty cool in that area) and it was clean and spacious.

The drink was good, it was priced fair, and a pretty bartender served it to us. Definitely a good stop on...

I come into town once or twice a year with a crew of tree workers... and we like to drink. This place has the ABSOLUTE WORST bartender with a major attitude. The drinks are expensive and they have a 3 drink limit.. Which isn't the worst. The worst is when they tell you there is a $10 minimum so my coworker ordered 2 drinks (to meet their minimum) and the bartender gives serious attitude and says she can't serve them at the same time. LADY... the only reason he ordered TWO is because his ONE drink wasn't enough. The absolute nerve! So I suggested to my coworker we leave cuz we aren't paying to be disrespected... bartender hears and walks off yelling "I don't care... BYE... BYE" and then proceeds to give the most patronizing goodbyes. I wonder if the owners are aware of her... the bouncer seemed to be.

NEVER EVER AGAIN! AWFUL SERVICE!!

Save yourself the aggravation and go to the Brass Rail in Redway. They are much more friendly.

Came here for the first time with my husband and a friend to see a great band play (Blü Egyptian, check them out!), and didn't really know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the inside is. Amazing murals everywhere and everything is clean and new-looking. The staff were pleasant, the crowd wasn't too rowdy. The drink prices felt high, but are actually probably on par for the area (everything in southern Humboldt county is more expensive than anywhere else in the state, from groceries to gasoline to literally everything else). I didn't have any food so I can't speak on that. Overall great experience, I feel silly for not stopping in sooner! I'll...
