Let me start off by saying clearly: AVOID PIETRO'S AT ALL COST.
Food: 1 star. The food gets 1 star because technically it is edible. If I had to pick a restaurant comp for the food, I would choose Olive Garden. The quality and taste is on par with Olive Garden. The kicker is the food is around twice the price while being half the quantity. The wine is outrageously marked up. Expect to pay 7-8x the value of the wine you drink. Overall, it feels like the agenda is to make as much profit as possible while using the lowest costing ingredients. It would not surprise me if they use Stouffer's frozen meals and microwave them.
Atmosphere: 2 stars. This is the best part of the entire experience. With that said, I can only describe the atmosphere as the owner trying over to compensate for the low quality food. It feels cluttered with "decorations" and the dark lighting doesn't help that fact.
Service: 1 star. I did not have any direct bad run ins with the service staff, but I did make troubling observations. Almost all the staff, including the owner, reeked of cigarettes. That scent doesn't leave the hands easily and then they touch the "clean" plates. The staff gives off the feeling that they don't want to be there. As a previous review noted, the food takes a very long time to reach your table, which I would have no problem with if the food was worth the wait/price. During your long wait, the staff will keep pestering you to buy the overpriced wine by the bottle, no matter how many times you tell them no. More than once during our visit we could see/hear the owner asking the staff how much wine they are selling. It really feels like the owner is more worried about his profits than he is about providing the best overall experience.
As I said in the beginning of my review. You should avoid this place like the plague. Your stomach and wallet will thank you. There are plenty of Italian restaurants in Fountain Hills that are twice the quality and...
Read moreSimilar to others with very difficult reviews of experiences, we felt that we grew a strong relationship with the team and owners. We were all in for supporting local businesses during the pandemic and attended every Saturday to spend with what we felt was "extended family." It was our date night! We received a call from the owner that we stayed too long after hours. They were upset, which I understand (since they were tired, long day etc.). Instead of a reminder or keep an eye on the time going forward and that they appreciated our business/loyalty, my wife and I received a call from the owner early in the week and were told to never come back on Saturday nights going forward. I thought that was very unprofessional and poorly managed, similar to other situations expressed on Google. I attempted to text/call the owner back to apologize; however, my number was blocked. Restaurant business is about relationships, loyalty and service. I'll take my business elsewhere that will welcome my wife and I...
Read moreCame for my father's 80th birthday. Party of four. My father and mother ordered the lemon chicken. It was smashed into oblivion and chewy. My husband had the eggplant and pasta (heâs vegan) he loved his meal. I had the shrimp scampi. There were FOUR shrimp with pasta for 25.00. Whatever. My parents sent back the chicken and didnât want anything else. They still handed them a bill for the food in addition to ours which was fine. What wasnât fine was trying to pay and leave when the âownerâ or some guy decided to try to fight with an 80 year old man and then told me my mother was starting a fight. My husband had to stand in front of the guy to try to keep a fight from breaking out. It was INSANE. To make a long story short this is not how it should have ended. They should have just credited the meals, not asked for a fight. We would have paid for it all. They were rude and unprofessional. Will...
