We entered the restaurant around 7:25. The weather was really nice so I asked if we could be seated outside. I was told they weren't serving outside because it was too hot. I'm from a northern state and I thought the temperature was great. We agreed to be seated inside because it was getting late and most of the restaurants in the area close by 9:00. I asked if we ordered food, could we take it outside ourselves? The hostess checked with the manager and said it would be okay to do so. Now, it wasn't only the weather that made us want to sit outside. The atmosphere inside was like a Chuck-e-cheese on steroids! There was a DJ playing dance music and kids, literally playing tag, running around screaming. We had to shout to have a conversation with each other. We ordered a pizza and a patty melt. At 8:20, the patty melt arrived. The fries were slightly burnt and the the burger was dry. I held off eating, waiting for the pizza to arrive. I finally started eating because the food was getting cold. About 15 or 20 minutes later the pizza arrived. At least the pizza was hot and a pretty decent pie. Someone in management finally realized it really was nice outside and they opened up their patio for service. The server did apologize for the slow service but I don't feel that was a sufficient response but I didn't blame him. We should have been approached by a manager. The location is great but it was just too chaotic for mediocre food. I would recommend avoiding this place unless you have kids you want to let run and scream around a restaurant and have a couple hours to...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in, it was clear that the restaurant is suffering from a severe lack of management oversight. The staff seemed untrained and unprepared; when we inquired about desserts, both the host and our waitress had to consult the menu to find out if they were even offered.
The service was exceptionally slow. We waited an unacceptable thirty minutes for simple items like water, a beer, and a slice of cheesecake. This kind of delay is indicative of deeper problems within the restaurant's operations. The staff desperately needs some leadership and service training.
After an unacceptably long wait, the disgusting 6 pigs in a blanket finally arrived. They are $14. The waitress didn’t bring ketchup and disappeared so after a while I got up and got some ketchup from another table.
The overall atmosphere was unwelcoming. Upon entering, we were met with blank stares instead of a greeting, which made us feel awkward and unwelcome. This restaurant desperately needs attention to improve its service, staff training, and overall management. Immediately!! I won’t be coming here again and we are staying at the Antelope Marina all summer.
I’d highly recommend they get serious service training. Get kids menus with coloring pages and a little activity for the kids. Better dessert menu. Keep the ice cream area open in the evenings.
Such a shame that this place is 1 star. If someone actually cared it...
Read moreFirst of all, we made a reservation for a large group including a kid that would need a high chair. They set our table at a high table, where the high chair wasn’t even close to reaching. It was actually quite laughable. We thought it was a joke. Then they told us we were welcome to move to a regular height table, so we moved all the menus and cutlery ourselves while the employee basically watched. Then we waited a really long time for our food. It was all over the place. They would bring out maybe one or two meals at a time and there were several people in our group who never got their food until the others had already finished their meal. The one kid in our group didn’t even get his dinner until everyone else had been served, and finished their food. They brought out the appetizers after we had all finished our food. What really bothered me was that there was another large group of people that came in after us. All of them got their food and finished it and left before we got ours. You would think they are family friendly (they have high chairs and booster seats) but no changing table in the women’s restroom. The waiter was apologetic, we don’t blame her. But this experience made us decide this restaurant was a one time thing, we wouldn’t be going again despite lake Powell being an annual...
