Beware of sneaky, undisclosed upselling! They offer stuff without explaining that they're actually trying to sell you something for an extra charge. I ordered the Superman Blizzard. She said, "Do you want the extra cookie dough in that?" Sounded like it was optional whether you wanted cookie dough in this Blizzard or not, and I did want cookie dough (it's supposed to come with cookie dough), so I said yes. While waiting for my order, I heard the man in the drive thru all a customer if they wanted extra pecans in their Turtle Blizzard, to make it "real good." This made me suspicious and I checked my receipt. Sure enough, an additional 80-cent surcharge for "extra" cookie dough. I don't blame the employees; I'm sure they were told they have to do this. But I will absolutely not support the unscrupulous franchise owner who told them to do this. Owner, I'm sure you think you're a slick genius by sneaking an extra 80-cent sale into every Blizzard. We have lived next door to your restaurant for many years. You've pulled some shenanigans before, but this type of sneaky garbage is a step too far. When you treat your long-time patrons like gullible rubes to be fleeced at every opportunity, this simply tells us that you lack integrity and don't deserve our business. Apologize for the deceptive practice you instructed your employees to follow, just to pad your bottom line. And then pledge to your customers to do better in the future by being honest about the surcharge if you're going to try to upsell. Dishonesty won't keep you in business; it will just cause your loyal customers to lose...
Read moreFirst I want to say I love dairy Queen and have always made it a ritual to but an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen.
Okay so my first problem was when I entered the building neither employee acknowledged me in any way. They both were to busy dealing with the drive thru.. which is by no means an excuse for poor customer service. I picked out an ice cream cake and proceeded to the checkout. The employee took her time to ring me out and was not friendly what so ever. I asked her if they could write “happy birthday” on the cake and thats when the other employee interjected and advised me that “she would not be able to help me until she handled all the people in the drive thru. I asked her how long she might be until she could help me and she said “she didnt know” not friendly at all and went back to ignoring me. I then finish my transaction with the first employee and she walked away and started doing other things without handing me my receipt... I then sat at the front counter for around 4 minutes until she realized she forgot to give me my receipt.
Without a shadow of a doubt the worst Dairy Queen experience I have ever had. So...
Read moreFirst off I need to share that the visit I made was at 10:50 on a Friday night. This DQ closes at 11:00. My thinking is that the teenage males holding down the fort had other thoughts in their heads besides serving up ice cream. That said, the two of us ordered a drink and an ice cream treat each. 4 items total. The young man handling the drive up speaker to order then handled the actual purchase at the window took 5 tries to get our order correct. Then at the window he dutifully repeated the order back as he prepared to hand it to us...and it was incorrect. After a lengthy discussion complete with visual aids and wild gestures, we got our intended order. Notable was the fact that not once did the young man apologize for his gross incompetence and, in fact, decided coping an attitude was the best way to handle it. The ice cream was yummy and I hope the young man will make more of an effort to actually listen to a customer when they...
