Stopped by while passing through Heber, and if I lived locally they'd have made of me a regular. The quaintly rustic facade belies a sensibly modern cafe whose decor owes more to "Starbucks" than Springteen's U.S.A. Coffee's cheap and black as diesel down in Quartzsite: it's strong enough to slap the donut from your hand while layered and elegant enough to pass reasonably for a performance by Ralph Fiennes- or at least a very dapper onion (whatever they're brewing is genuinely as good as the pricey stuff at specialty coffee shops). I stopped by Sanders Coffee on a Friday morning while passing through the quiet town of Heber, Arizona—and I’m so glad I did. This little coffee shop is full of heart. It’s run by the sweetest family, and the space has a cozy, inviting vibe that immediately makes you feel at home.

The coffee was fantastic, but what really stood out to me was the thoughtful detail on the lid of my cup. Only came here because the reviews said the service was amazing but must’ve caught them on an off day. Two girls were working & neither one acknowledged us at all when we came in (not busy & nobody in line). I walked up to the counter and she took my order with no greeting or thank you (she did ask if I wanted the cinnamon roll heated up), then when the other girl made my drink and called it out, I walked up to get it and said thank you and she ignored me & they didn’t say anything when we left. Just kind of weird and unexpected since reviews said it’s such a great place for good service & that is my top criteria these days with coffee shops/restaurants.
