J's Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Fox Lake

My wife and I have been to J's several times for lunch during the week. We have always had a good experience. The staff is very attentive and courteous. Tonight is the first, and probably last, time I will go on a Saturday evening. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer.I paid with a $20 for my first $3 beer and got $13 change (2 fives and 3 ones). Seems like it should have been the other way around. A different server gave me my second beer. I asked for a menu at this time and she asked if I had a tab going to which I said no. I placed an order to go. She brought out my food, set it down and walked away. I had to get her attention several minutes later as she was talking with another employee, to settle the bill. When I said that she only served me 1 beer and not 2, like the bill said, she made the adjustment. I paid and left. I would have left a better tip, but I tip according to the service I receive. Tried this place while I was at Fox lake for the 4th mainly because it offers tavern cut pizzas. I got a pepperoni, the phili cheese steak and J’s beer pizza. Crust was thin and they do not skimp on toppings. If this was in the city, it would only be slightly below places like Pats or Michael’s as the crust is not as flaky. Philly cheese steak was surprisingly good, the J’s beer pizza is a bit spicy due to the peppercinis, the sausage on it is not as good as other places in the city. The ranch dipping they offer is awesome. I also tried the wings and they are well done, the sauce was on the side for pick up order to prevent it from being soggy which is a pro-move. Prices are very reasonable ($22 for large pepperoni, $27 for large specialty). This should be the only place you’re getting pizza in the Fox...

My first and only experience here was disgusting the food server were not wearing gloves. wipe the sweat off his face and grab cheese lettuce tomatoes, and wipe his hands on his pants One food server we’re making pizza for a customer and blowing his nose at the same time. This was the most disgusting restaurant I have ever been into. I politely asked for my money back. I was so disappointing because I was on my lunch break, and wasted my lunchtime for this disgusting experience....
