Los 2 Magueyes is tucked away in the corner of a struggling strip mall. They are trying very hard to attract business with signs and lights in their windows. When I went the new owners had just acquired the restaurant so there was no liquor available as they were still under review for their liquor license. So I was unable to try any of their signature drinks. I'll be back for those. The food was AMAZING to say the least. My group got chips, salsa and guacamole, burritos, Torta's, enchiladas, and a chicken strip meal. They brought out like 4 or 5 different homemade hot sauces and each of them were so good! I liked the variety. The rice and beans were devoured by the table. My husband and son are sticklers for beans and apparently these were ones to come back for. The enchiladas (steak and chicken) looked beautiful and tasted so good! Meat was quality and the tortilla was perfect. The Torta was so very tasty! I was upset I was too full to keep going but excited that I had tomorrows lunch. The bread was soft and fresh, the lettuce was crispy. A healthy serving of meat (steak) was in every bite. Loved loved loved. The burrito was inhaled in minutes before I could get my own taste but I was told it was so tasty he can't wait to come back again, lol. The chicken strips and fries came out really hot. So my little guy had to wait a bit while we were all eating. The French fries were seasoned and the table had a hard time keeping their hands away from them. Everyone enjoyed those fries! The atmosphere is that of a traditional authentic Mexican restaurant. Beautiful mosaics and bright colors. I loved the sturdiness of the chairs. However, my personal opinion would be go modern and not authentic. I talked to the chefs and waitresses who were so excited about the new owners and had amazing customer service and I just feel like the vibe needed to be brought into today and not traditional. But I completely understand without the foot traffic and revenue updates are dreams at the moment. So I hope and pray that happens for this place! We really love this place. I've recommended it on Facebook to people as a spot to check out. We've ordered for takeout already since and everything was ready very quickly and still perfectly hot when we got it home to eat. I will be taking as many people as I can here. I think with the golf course across the street they should be doing better than they are but it's honestly I think it's the barren strip mall not helping the situation. They even have a twisted burger in the same strip mall and again missed by the lack of development within not bringing foot traffic in. A packed parking lot drives interest. I hope that happens soon for Los 2 Magueyes! I would happily have to wait for a table. Congratulations and keep that wait staff and chefs! Amazing!!! We will be back again and...
Read moreI tried this place when it first opened, and unfortunately, I wasn't impressed, which was sad because I could literally walk there from my house. Recently, I heard that there were new owners and that I should give it another try, and I'm glad I did, because the food is excellent! We currently have eight Mexican places within 5 min of my house, and Los 2 Magueyes is my new favorite, and my entire family agrees. They're in a nearly vacant strip mall with little drive by traffic, which can be difficult for them if the word doesn't get out that they're absolutely worth the drive to go there. The others are off Rt 12 or on the water, which is more high profile, but this place really upped their game, and for me, they have the best food out of all of them! We've eaten here three times in the last month, and it's definitely worth the time to find your way here....you will not be...
Read moreGreeted by friendly staff, and seated as soon as we walked into the restaurant. Chips and salsa were on our table not even one minute later, and our large order was served within ten minutes of us arriving. I was raised in Texas and pretty much grew up living off of Mexican food, so I’m very particular about it. That said, this food was phenomenal, and AUTHENTIC.. which I feel like is so hard to find around here. I also ordered my boyfriend some food to go, and they waited until I was leaving to give it to me so it’d still be warm when I brought it to him at work (He loved it just as much as I did). Highly suggest this place for anyone looking for delicious, authentic Mexican food and great service. We will definitely be...
