One Quart Grape Nuts “Hard” Ice Cream

We purchased this ice cream at a local ice cream shop across town. As I was carrying the ice cream tub to the car and noticed the tub wasn’t rock hard, I sensed there was going to be an issue.

After letting it sit in the freezer for about one hour, we decided to belly up and start scooping.

The ice cream was packed with grape nuts and that was the best feature. The ice cream itself tasted great; it would have been a better experience if the ice cream was actually rock solid.

This was supposed to be hard ice cream; the texture was borderline soft serve. If I wanted soft serve, I would have ordered soft serve.

I basically had to finish it quickly because it was already melting. It’s not enjoyable when you have to race against time to finish your dessert before it turns into a puddle.

It was a great flavor, but this is regretfully not my preferred ice cream parlor.

Ice cream - both hard & soft-serve, ice pops, and other frozen treats with all the trimmings and toppings. They also have an eclectic mix of candies and toys, plus a few trinkets and gift items. Prices are comparably reasonable. Located right on Hamilton Street with plenty of on site parking. The service is outside (thru windows), so they're not always open on the colder days.
