I wish I could give this 0 stars. Four friends & I went to the Apple Fest yesterday. We chose to eat at Benjamin's because we'd gotten caught in the rain and were chilled through, so we didn't want to sit outside to eat. I understand that the Apple Fest would've made them crazy busy, but the service we received was deplorable even under those circumstances. We were seated well ahead of the lunch rush, but weren't served our food until an hour later. During that time, our waiter walked past our table numerous times but never once even checked on us. The coffee was served in styrofoam cups and tasted like it had been made that morning (and it cost over $2!). Our food, when it finally arrived, was almost all cold. Two of us had ordered sweet potato fries; four of us received [cold] sweet potato fries. When this was pointed out, our server (who was not our waiter & who was VERY apologetic & helpful!) brought out one order of regular fries to make up for the mistake. Our plates had food leftovers encrusted on the bottom, as if they'd been stacked too tightly in the dishwasher.🤢 Burgers were dry and tasteless. Two sandwiches were served w/o lettuce & tomato. Water was never refilled in the hour and a half that we were there; the one coffee refill we got was terribly weak. Four of us paid with cash and NONE of us received correct change. One lady got $5 more than what she should have; when she generously returned it to the waiter, he stuffed it in his pocket and barely acknowledged her. Typically, we are all generous tippers, but yesterday we left w/o tipping. There is simply no excuse for service that terrible during an annual event that can be planned for & trained for well in advance. We seriously regretted our [expensive] lunch choice, and we'll never make that mistake again. At least the outdoor food vendors know how to...
Read moreMy daughter and I were in the area to spend Christmas with family but due to the Southwest Airlines debacle we ended up having to stay an additional 6 days. One night my mother decided to treat us to dinner here. As we walked up I noticed how beautifully decorated the outdoors are for the Holidays and when we entered it felt warm and inviting. The menu is extensive so it took us awhile to decide on what we wanted. I started with a bowl of Tomato Soup and let me tell you that it was probably the best Tomato Soup I've had! Thick and Creamy and served with Oyster Crackers! I settled on The Pot Roast as my entree with two additional sides of Rice and a fully loaded baked potato, however it seems my server fudged my order a bit as the Pot Roast came without the carrots, potatoes and other veggies that the menu said it came with and it was served over the rice I had ordered as a side dish, the server corrected this and I began to eat. The Pot Roast and Gravy were unfortunately bland to the taste and needed salt but the pot roast was very tender, you should do something about the flavor. For dessert I had the Chocolate Lave Cake with Ice Cream which was a sweet ending to the meal! The lack of flavor of my entree is what kept me from giving this 5 Stars, just fix that issue and it will get 5 Stars all day! Despite that I will definitely be back the next time I'm...
Read moreWe came here for the first time due to high recommendations. When we went in, we were seated within a minute or so. We waited at our table for almost 10 minutes and another couple was seated behind us. A waitress waited on them very promptly explaining the specials. As she was taking their order, our waitress came. We weren’t told the specials, she asked how we were, my wife said she was good and asked her how she was. I said I’m good. Then she asked are you sure. I said we were getting ready to leave. She said oh ok, and closed her note pad and asked if we wanted drinks. We ordered our drinks and then she said I assume you’re ready to order with a condescending tone. After taking our order she left. Within 2 minutes we had another waitress come out and stare/ glare at us I went to the bar and asked for the manager. When she came over I explained what had happened. She said she would take care of it and wait on us personally the rest of the night. I sat back down. When our appetizer came out we starting eating. The jalapeño popper cheese was cool and I bit in lot a mushroom and it was cold on the inside. I went back to the manage r and asked for a box and out check. She said not to worry about it and just go. I went and told my wife and as we went to leave another waitress glared at us. We did not make a scene, the discussion with the manager...
