Romeys Place | Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Franklin

Romeys has gone way down hill. Ordered 2 fried cod, 1 baked cod, 1 sunrise burger for pick up. Arrived on time and order was waiting on end of bar. Spoke to blonde bartender who snapped angrily to go talk to the other bartender because it's shift change The other bartender was preoccupied playing bar dice and slamming shots. Eventually we got our food. Checked the order and the egg on the burger was cooked incorrectly so had to send it back. The fish looked different and very small compared to our past orders. Once the egg was fixed we left. Got home to find out the bottoms of all 6 potato pancakes were burnt black. The baked cod was so dry it was inedible. The fries cod was just ok but the cornmeal breading was very soggy. I called my friend who also goes thhere a lot and they have had similar experiences lately. Corner type of bar. No frills, outdated but has outdoor smoking if you care, pool table is good, OK parking, slow bartender on our night out, no masks required or social distancing if that matters. Romeys has been around for generations jad great fish Fry's and food. Nice place to chill but it is pretty small inside. Its a nice lil hole in the wall with TV for sports fans. Bathrooms are not gender neutral. Not a regular sanitatizing schedule from what I saw. Just an outdated neighborhood bar to tip a glass with after a day. Date April 5, 2021 5:00pm called in to order the Prime Rib special. Gets greeted and asked to order the prime rib to go. Is then told to hold and then put on a 30 minute wait as I hear the entire bar joking and hear waitress Eva talking about absolutely nothing. I only waited just to see how bad it was. She gets back on the phone and I my exact words were “It’s been 30 minutes”. She proceeds to hang up. I would not recommend doing a take out order but does seem to be nice fun drunk time on the inside.
