I learned of Swiss Street through a WKLH FB post, highlighting them on Cream City Cravings. I had never heard of them, or even the street, so I had to do a little investigating to find out more. I was intrigued so I scheduled the outing for last night. It's a nice place on a quiet street with a casual look and feel, but not quite so casual to be considered a dive bar. They have TVs above the bar for sports, a pool table, and a lot of room for dining tables. Lori was our server and she is just fabulous. Our first time there, but she made us feel like regulars. She was friendly, welcoming, and so accommodating. She kept us updated on our orders, described different items - like telling us everything is scratch made in their kitchen (except 2 items I don't remember). They even hand roll their Mozzarella Wontons. YUM! The owner Ryan (sp?) came out to see how we enjoyed our dinners. She was also just lovely. She told us how she came about owning Swiss Street and that menu changes are coming soon. We thoroughly enjoyed the current menu items we chose - the appetizers will remain. Both of my friends had the Three Piece Fish Fry, one ordering the Haystack app, and the other getting the Breaded Mushrooms. I don't eat fish so I got the Chicken, Bacon, Ranch Wrap with the Mozzarella Wontons. Not only was everything delicious, but the portion sizes, and size of the individual mushrooms and wontons, were large and VERY reasonably priced. We placed a full sized fork with the apps so you can see just how big the pieces are. The haystacks are SO thin. They do serve breakfast on the weekends so we will come back to check that out one weekend.

Thank you to Ryan and her great staff for serving our unexpected party of 16. The service was great, the food was delicious, especially the burgers and tater tots. The brandy old fashions were spot on! Thanks again!!!

My wife and I went here last night for dinner. We sat at the bar, ate appetizers, and drank. All the while we were entertained by the owner, John, the bartender, the waitress, and a few customers. This place is not the prettiest on the planet, but the atmosphere, the attentiveness of the employees, and the food more than makes up for any defects in decor. We had one of the best times of our lives here. The only problem was some one named Brooklyn blew off her shift. Hopefully, she is unemployed now. Despite the shorthandedness of the crew, our visit was extremely fun. We will be back. We might actually have dinner this time, although the wings are fantadtic as is the clam chowder. Very...

I was really excited to go on a drive and find a new local spot to grab lunch and possibly a drink. I sat at the bar, ordered a drink and started reading the menu. The next thing I hear is how the bartender hoped a politician should be unalived! Then there was more ranting about politics before I chose to pay and leave.

I hope the bartender hears that my almost 50% tip is because I believe in supporting the middle class, and not a reflection of the experience.

If your staff can not act professionally maybe politics should not...
