My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Cotton Gin Village for the very first time on New Year’s Eve in the Nueces cottage and we absolutely loved it! The grounds are scenic, leaving the impression that you’re somewhere in the woods and the property is located just a few miles from downtown Fredericksburg. Our cottage was quaint, cozy and peaceful and the rainfall shower was awesome! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a box of fresh baked cookies and everything needed to make s’mores. Our favorite part of all was the breakfast basket that is delivered daily at around 9am. There’s nothing like waking up to a hot breakfast. The basket consists of fruit, pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade yogurt, and another main item. We had breakfast burritos one day and quiche on the other. Everything was delicious! We had dinner at Cabernet Grill on New Year’s Eve and dinner was amazing. I will say it was definitely, one of the best steaks I’ve had. We can’t wait to return to Cotton Gin Village. We’re hoping to return in Spring or Summer when everything in Texas is green and flowers are blooming. I can only imagine how breathtaking it will be.

My husband and I have been on many trips together, but staying at Cotton Gin Village definitely made our stay in Fredericksburg the best yet! When you really get down to what made it special, it was a combination of many small things. The ease of accessing our room, even though we got there late, The constant communication with staff answering our questions, The restaurant squeezing in overnight guests for dinner, even though they were booked solid, down to the overall atmosphere. The cottage and grounds are immaculately well-kept! And don’t let me forget to mention the breakfast basket delivered at 9 AM each day. I did not expect all of the deliciousness that was going to arrive in there! When my husband let them know that we didn’t need the breakfast for the morning of our last day because we needed to leave early, they brought us breakfast the night before! I feel like 5 stars isn’t enough for how amazing it was! Book now, you won’t regret it!

I stayed at this quaint property a few weeks ago. It’s the perfect weekend getaway spot. The property is about 4 hours outside of Houston. There are multiple cabins on the property and one big cabin that can accommodate large groups. I stayed in the Pedernales Cabin. The cabins on the property give you a rustic feel with modern designs in areas such as the kitchen and bathroom. The front of the Pedernales Cabin came with a patio swing and sitting area for outside dining. According to the staff at The Cotton Gin Village, each of the seven cabins has been thoughtfully appointed with authentic touches such as tin ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces, and log-framed beds. I had warm cookies waiting for me when I arrived along with a few special ingredients to make smores using the fireplace inside the cabin. Everything was nice. In the morning, they also have a hot breakfast basket waiting for you at the front door.

My husband and I had plans to stay at this place but my father died and we tried to cancel our trip and at the bare minimum get a credit. We were not asking for a refund. Due to their policy they refused to even work with us. The owners denied us anything. Not willing to work with us. I am questioning people‘a compassion and decency. I am extremely disappointed and can’t believe how cold people can be. I understand it’s a business but how completely insensitive and ugly these owners are with circumstances that were completely out of our control. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I will never stay here. My husband and I were so excited to stay and enjoy a relaxing weekend. So sad that business owners rather make money then be decent human beings. Disgusting behavior and mean and just really sad that people are so incredibly greedy. Never stay at this place. Don’t spend your money here. There are plenty of nice place in Fredericksburg to stay.

I just received a common reply from the owners. Still sorry but not sorry. By the way we tried purchasing your insurance and we were met with you were too late buying it. As I said before we don’t want our money back just a credit to use at a different time. All we want to do is spend money with you and have a good time and not feel ripped off. I can’t in good conscience...

My husband and I stayed in Fredericksburg this weekend for our anniversary. We both had never been, but we’re so happy we stayed at Cotton Gin Village! Our stay was pretty near perfect - we stayed in the Nueces building and loved the ample space, the furnishings/decor were rustic, as pictured, but were still nice, the towels provided were really soft, and my husband especially loved the rainfall shower.

The property itself was gorgeous, a tad bit of a maze but there were plenty of directional signage to help you find where you were going. Plenty of free guest parking, we never had any issues finding a spot close to our building. We loved having breakfast delivered to our door each day, can’t beat that! Some of the items weren’t mine or my husband’s favorite, but it still beats a basic continental breakfast buffet.

Lastly, we had a reservation to visit Cabernet Grill on Friday and that was a fantastic experience. The staff was very friendly (from hosts to our server - John S.), the service was surprisingly fast (for a fancier place), and our food was perfect. Could not have asked for a better meal - the biscuits are INCREDIBLE.

We obviously had a great experience and will be recommending this place to everyone and will be staying here again when...

Poor service. No one answers the calls. I had jewelry stolen from my cottage while I was at dinner at their restaurant. I immediately reported it. It is now 10 days later and I had to file a police report because the owner refused to provide me with his insurance information. Now I am utilizing the services of the Fredericksburg Police because the Cotton Gin won't acknowledge responsibility of their lack of care for my property as a paying guest. I asked for the surveillance video as they have this it was not provided. I asked to speak to their insurance carrier so the adjuster could investigate the claim. This was refused. I have spent countless hours now on an establishment I wish I had no association with. The owner Russ does not answer calls. He puts you off. Horrible customer service. Customer service is not a word in their vocabulary. There are no lock boxes in the rooms nor in the front lobby so guests are vulnerable to break ins yet there are no signs stating you should be weary of your property being stolen. Thus I had to call and call over many days without the majority ever be returned. In terms of safety for their customers it is deplorable. I would never stay here and...
