First time here. Located right on the runway of the FBG airport. You can watch the aircraft taking off through the many large windows. Looked like an old fashioned diner and we enjoyed that. Shakes and malts made there, which also made it have that old fashioned feel. Servers were nice but don't expect them to greet you when you come in. Seat yourself. The food was good, not great. Meatloaf was flavorful but a little dry. Eggs were a little dry & overcooked. Onion rings looked delicious. Had a yummy flavor. But texture felt like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. Waffles were good. Sausage links yummy. Loved the coffee. They were out of bacon when we got there, but saw a BLT on someone's plate and it looked thick and delicious. You'll spend $12+ on a meal. But pretty common in FBG. We enjoyed being at the airport. Keep your expectations simple and you'll be just fine. All in all, we enjoyed our meals and the airport ambiance.

We came here on a Sunday morning because we saw a Tik Tok about this place. The food was delicious and surprisingly it wasn’t crazy expensive. They also give you a ton of food with your meal. This place is nestled away at a little airport outside of town and you can literally stand outside and watch the airplanes land and take off. This is definitely a little hidden gem that we got to check out. There is also a hotel that you can stay in and it looks pretty nifty too. Can’t wait to book a stay at the hotel and spend a weekend here. Erika was our server, we sat at the bar, she was super quick and can tell she knows how to do her job. She checked in, kept the drinks flowing, and was super friendly. Definitely 5 stars for the food, the service, and the atmosphere.

It's a nice looking place but the food is the most underwhelming I think I've ever had. I got an omelette and my wife ordered a waffle. Both came out semi-warm. I can't attest to how the waffle tasted but the omelette was like something you would expect to get from a low quality fast food joint. The cheese tasted like the processed slices you get on sale and the ham inside was just lunch meat. Not sure how it remains in business with that quality of food especially with pilots flying in like me but some people seem to like it. I'm definitely not recommending it as a $100 hamburger spot. P.s. I see a lot of these "local guide" reviews and I have a hard time believing they really feel this place deserves 5 stars but to each their own I guess.

Cool concept and atmosphere, even though we unfortunately went on a day when we didn’t see any planes take off or land.

Food was just average. The salsa with the breakfast tacos and migas was next to flavorless, but the hybrid corn and flour tortilla was unique. Chicken fried steak and gravy had minimal flavor, but the breading did stay crunchy.

Service was beyond disappointing. They really could’ve used a hostess on this busy day, or at the very least, a manager or other employee could’ve done a much better job of communicating what was taking place. When I entered I noticed the sign to seat yourself, and I spotted 2 empty tables. Unfortunately, both tables had signs on them saying they were closed, so I returned to the entrance to wait for a table to leave. Soon, there were several other parties waiting in the entryway with me. I ended up having to communicate to each party that came in that yes, I was waiting for a table, and no, I can’t go to those tables because they’re closed.

Finally, a man from another party asked a server why those tables were closed. The server said it was because they were short staffed. We continued to wait. Finally, a couple stood up to leave, but a server rushed over to tell us they’d be closing that table too. So we kept waiting. Then I see another table getting up to leave. I walk to the table to claim it, and then while waiting there an employee comes over with another “this table is closed” sign. They again say they have to close the table because they’re short staffed. There’s never an apology for the wait or a “thanks for your patience and understanding”. They’ve now closed 4 tables, and we go back to waiting.

Throughout all of this, we’ve only heard from young servers, never a front of house manager. When asked if they’ll be closing even more tables, they couldn’t give me an answer, nor any indication of how much longer we’d be waiting.

I totally get that people call in sick and things get busier than planned. I worked in the restaurant industry for several years, so I get it, but the lack of communication and customer service was disappointing.

We stuck it out because the restaurant had been recommended to us, and we had a kid with us who was super excited about being able to see airplanes. While we sat and ate our breakfast, we were able to watch the arrival of more potential customers. We saw 4 different groups attempt to wait and then leave because there was no greeting or communication from staff, and all they saw was 4 open tables that...

A couple weeks ago there was an event at the airport so my hubby and I went. We go to the Diner somewhat frequently and up until that day had decent friendly service. I wanted to try their pancakes and decided to order the primb rib breakfast since it came with one. After we got our food we didnt see Anna our waitress again for 13 min. My food wasnt hot and on top of that my prime rib wasnt even cooked inside. I ordered it medium. When she finally came to the table next to us to check on them I got her attention and was told she gave us our food at least 20 min ago and thats why it was now cold. I had cut up the meat to see if only a portion was uncooked and it was the same all the way through. When I brought up how under cooked it was she argued with me that she knows what medium is and thats how its cooked. Absolutely rude and made it quite clear not only did she disagree but I was wrong. She is young, im in my 60s. Seriously I think considering I always order my steak medium without any issues I think I know what it looks like. She got real snippy and offered to replace it. Since it took a while I ate my pancake. I put the plate it was on on top if the other one I had. When she came back she accussed me of eating the steak and I lifted the top plate up so she could see I hadnt. The 2nd steak came the same way. Cold dark red meat inside (not cooked). So she went off in another huff. A cook came back with the next attempt. It was cooked all the way thru but I accepted it since it was actually warm and cooked inside. Thats the first time I was disappointed in a meal there and shocked at a waitress' behavior. There was no reason for it. Personally if I was the boss and saw that I would of fired her...

This review is only for the airport diner. Myself and 3 friends had lunch here today Aug 24th 2019. It was the worst food and experience we have ever had. We ordered breakfast, meatloaf, burger, and corned beef. The biscuits were hard as clay pucks. The so called sausage gravy had no sausage in it....it looked like chicken gravy, the scrambled eggs were cold, and we asked for cheese on the grits which amounted to a pinch of shredded cheese. The mashed potatoes on the meatloaf plate were cold and tasted like a smashed baked potato with no taste. The burger was asked to be cooked medium and came dry and well well done. The corned beef sandwich was soaking wet. We can't believe that we had to pay $2.00 extra to get 10 freedom fries instead of chips on our sandwiches. They were also cold. We watched our food being put in window to be served to us but for some reason all 4 servers stood in front of window looking at food and moving plates around. The food was in window for at least 10 minutes if not longer before our server decided to bring us our plates. I know there must be regulars because that is who got the most attention. This was our first and only time that we will dine here. It was a very expensive lunch that didn't even get eaten. We hope that someone in management sees this review so corrections can be made and maybe for the next guest it may...
