Place was clean and the counter staff attentive. 1st time here. Lots of choices and they can change while you're there based on what's coming out of the bakery. We don't have another full time bakery around and the 7 doughnuts/one blueberry pie was $35.25. Very expensive. The doughnuts and pie were very good. We will come back. *Note this review was completed without using ridiculous un-discriptive terms like out-of-bounds, OMG, on point, awesome, the bomb, yummy, delish, to die for, do your self a favor, trust me, or kids emojis etc.. Describe the food, service (or lack of) and provide details on the cost/copy of check and include pictures! Is the place clean? No disrespect to the employees but no one cares about the waiter/waitress/clerk names, or if they look like they fell face first into a tackle box. They get changed like underwear and you don't get to pick one. No we don't care about your allergies or the need for gluten free food. **If you see a Google review posted with just stars & no text, report it via the 3 dot selection adjacent to the review. If the text in the review doesn't describe the food/service report it. This cleans up Google reviews and removes the slugs just trying to get reviewer points Process: Select - Report review. Select- Not helpful at the bottom of drop down Review doesn’t help people decide whether to go to this place.

Finally Tried It — Totally Worth the Hype! This was my first time visiting Paul’s Bakery, and after hearing so many great things from friends and locals, I finally made it — and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, I could smell the sweetness in the air. Everything looked so fresh and inviting. I can happily say: it did not disappoint. The pastries were soft, flavorful, and made with obvious care. You can tell why this place is so loved in the community. Whether you’re a donut lover or a cake fan, there’s something here that will win your heart. šŸ“2008 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 Can’t wait to come back and try more! #PaulsBakery #FredericksburgEats #SweetTreats #BakeryLove #WorthTheHype #LocalFavorites #DonutGoals #FirstVisitMagic #SupportLocal #BakedWithLove

One of the best donuts and brownies I have had! We ordered online and chose to have them delivered. I wished the website allowed us to tip online, so that it would be safer for both the customers and delivery person. Today our delivery person waited for us to pick up our donuts from her, but we waited inside and told her that we'd prefer contactless delivery. This means that she would pick up the tip that we put in front of our door. It took her some time, but she eventually got it. Great customer service and on-time delivery!

(This was written by my wife, but I reposted it here because she liked it so much!)

I was told to "go get a donut" as a way to distract me from the fact that our appointment was running late, and so I walked over to Paul's Bakery... begrudgingly. And, to be completely honest, I went in with very low expectations and seeking coffee only. Because Paul's Bakery surely has coffee and it was almost lunch time, and donuts tend to be a disappointment, you know? If only I had known.

I realize now that it was silly of me to question how good the donuts would be because there was a line, on a random Wednesday at around 11-ish. And who gets donuts by the dozen on Wednesdays? Where are these people going with dozens of donuts? Where do these people work that they have time to stand in line for donuts, on a Wednesday?!

So I got in line to order my coffee and it hit me: the smell of flour and yeast and sugary goodness, and I heard the clang of sheet-pans hitting racks and I thought, maybe I'll have "a" donut too?

And when I finished my first one, I went back for a second. And a third.... and a fourth.

My favorites are the maple/bacon glaze, the chocolate buttercream, and the cronuts. Yes, they have cronuts and they are HEAVENLY and totally worth it.

Sidenote: I took the dozen below back to the office because sharing is caring. My co-workers tried to humor me by taking a half-a-donut to start, but in a few hours, they were all gone. There were...

I was looking to grab a quick donut and coffee at a local bakery in Fredericksburg, VA before a two-hour drive home back to Norfolk. After a quick search on Yelp I came across Paul's Bakery, and after seeing their rave reviews and that they had a check in offer for a free donut, I knew this was going to be where I was stopping before my departure back to Hamtpon Roads. When I pulled up I could barely find a parking spot, and when I opened the door to enter, the line wrapped around the bakery. It was at this moment that I knew these donuts to be fire, and I decided to order a dozen to bring back home to my family.

Whew chile, these donuts are life do you hear me!? The Oreo, bomb ... the Lemon, bomb ... the apple cinnamon, bomb ... and the original glazed, yes gawd honey, you guessed it, BOMB! The donuts here taste like miniature funnel cakes just without all the extra grease, just tasty! Moreover, I was able to snag a dozen, an extra free donut with my check-in offer, a large coffee, and six free donut holes for ordering a large coffee for just a little over $13, quite a steal tbh!

Listen to me, Paul's is going to have to be a go-to spot for coffee and donuts anytime I'm traveling to (or through) Fredericksburg. And from now on if you try to tell me that Krispy Kream has the best donuts, I'm not even going to try and argue with you, you're just going to get slapped...

I am extremely disappointed in Paul's Bakery after many years of frequently visiting I was dismissed after they made a huge mistake for a surprise birthday celebration.

Three days before the cake was needed my wife and I traveled 45 minutes to the bakery to ensure the birthday cake we wanted was ordered correctly. Linda took our order and after ensuring the order was correct we paid for it and departed. I spent hundreds of dollars for a special party to include a special cake. Upon arriving to Paul's to pick up the cake it appeared correct. Upon arriving at the party destination 1 hour north and cutting the cake I found the filling we ordered was missing. I packed up the cake and headed back to Paul's. The lady I spoke to behind the bakery counter found our ticket and acknowledged that indeed the filling was missing and offered me filled doughnuts in place of the missing filling. I said are you kidding, she then stated she could give me the $2.00 back for the missing filling. The bakery completely misses the fact that a lot of time, effort and planning went into this extra special event and $2.00 will not fix the fact that they ruined what was susposed to be a special event. Don't worry Paul's you lost my business as well.

Linda was incredibly helpful, and convinced us that Paul's was the right choice for our baking needs. Sorry Linda but that just wasn't...
