When visiting Fredericksburg, it’s a well known fact that it’s home to some really great wineries but the food scene isn’t a joke either. Wranglers Prime Rib Barn happens to offer the best of both worlds. Walking up to the barn themed restaurant that sits quaintly amongst a couple other buildings, next to a pasture with longhorns gives you a sense of excitement about what awaits inside. As you enter, you’re greeted by really friendly staff and led into a beautifully western decorated dining area. Jason, our server, was the absolute best. Not only did he provide friendly and professional service he also gave personal suggestions on the menu and points of interest around town. He genuinely seemed happy being a part of the restaurant and he definitely represents it well. We started off with the Chicken Poppers and they were amazing. For the main I had the Ribeye while my daughter had the filet and my son with the New York strip. The sides are family style and we had the broccolini (Jason’s suggestion) asparagus and poblano Mac and cheese. Great portions, fresh and were so amazing. The steaks were all perfectly cooked mid rare, seasoned and looked just as great. Dinner was finished off with the raspberry cheesecake. The gentleman that was running the place this evening, (I felt bad about not remembering his name) but was said to be the owners son, was very friendly and welcoming. If I could give this more stars then I would. We came for a great meal and left with even greater memories.

From walking in the ambience and barn like atmosphere was the best!! Gary who greeted us was just as nice and attentive along with being very knowledgeable with the wines. Miranda was our waitress she was very attentive and knew the menu. We had the bacon, jalapeños chicken wraps for appetizer and I probably could had a couple more orders and would have been just as happy. Prime rib was excellent, my husband had the smash burger which was excellent along with the fries. I had the pear salad, it was excellent along with a skewer of shrimp for the top. I can not wait to try the poblano Mac n cheese. We had two bottles of red, Merlot and the tanat that was aged in the bourbon barrel. Deanna you did a fine job with the ambience and food. Applause 👏 to you!

We came in earlier this evening after a trip to Barons Creek for dinner. Let me just start with the service was amazing. From the hostess to the wait staff to the speed of the kitchen, the service was too notch. Now to the food. The food was INCREDIBLE. We got the Parmesan truffle fries for an appetizer and these were unlike any other fries I’ve ever had. They were phenomenal. My son got a kids cheeseburger and fries and again delicious. I got the prime rib which I was so happy with and my husband got a ribeye. The meat was cooked excellently and was great quality and seasoned perfectly. We also tried the cowbelle sparkling wine and it was the best summer wine ever. If you are looking for a place to eat in Fredericksburg, LOOK NO FURTHER!

A Honeymoon Dining Experience to Remember

A huge thank you to Wranglers Prime Rib Barn for an absolutely amazing honeymoon dinner in the heart of Texas wine country. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special. Wranglers Prime Rib Barn isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a destination for those who appreciate exceptional wine, perfectly prepared prime rib, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The 2021 Bourbon Barrel Tannat was the highlight of the evening, pairing beautifully with their succulent prime rib, rich tallow mushrooms, and silky, buttery potatoes. Every bite and sip was flawless, and it’s clear that their team puts serious thought into their menu and wine pairings.

The atmosphere was perfect, striking the ideal balance between cozy, elegant, and rustic charm, making it the perfect setting for a honeymoon dinner. But what truly set the experience apart was the impeccable service—the staff was professional, attentive to every detail, and genuinely passionate about ensuring a memorable dining experience.

We enjoyed our night so much that we’ve already planned to return next year for our first anniversary. If you’re looking for an unforgettable wine-country dining experience, Wranglers Prime Rib Barn is the place to be.

Recommendations: Sample some wines, Prime Rib, Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Mushrooms, Cheesecake

This is a new hidden gem! I happened to run across this restaurant by chance as it doesn't usually show up in searches. The creative menu and reasonable prices made up my mind. We were very happy we found it. The place has a classy ambiance and not too stuffy. The grilled Fredericksburg peach salad was refreshing and delicious with the great local peaches. The marbled prime rib cooked just right. The grilled mushroom pasta is flavorful, creamy with pasta cooked just right. They split the salad for us without our asking, very thoughtful. We also ordered desserts to go as we chowed down all the food and cannot eat more then. All of that totalled up to a very reasonable bill that we could have easily surpassed at another restaurant but probably would not have enjoyed as much. The pleasant surprise was that our non-alcoholic drinks were of no charge. We're telling everyone about this place and no doubt...
