We visited The Fred on Sunday, December 29th, with a $40 couples day pass booked through ResortPass. Our goal was to spend a relaxing afternoon at the pool and beach, and we were excited about having access to showers to freshen up before heading to the Festival Village in Frederiksted later in the evening. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations.
The Pros: Beautiful Atmosphere: The pool and general setting were quite nice and had potential for a great experience. Helpful Front Desk Staff: The staff member who checked us in was kind and attentive, providing a good first impression. Sweet but Overwhelmed Bar/Wait Staff: The only bartender/ server were friendly, but it was clear they were stretched thin.
The Cons: No Showers Available: One of the main reasons we chose The Fred was for its advertised showers, which were nowhere to be found. This was a significant disappointment, as it was a key feature listed on the ResortPass site. Poor Food and Service: It took over 30 minutes for a basic plate of $14 chicken nachos, which were underwhelming. A nearby table even walked out because of the slow service. False âAdults Onlyâ Advertising: Despite the listing specifying this as an adults-only property, there was a child hanging out at the pool during our visit. Limited and Poorly Maintained Facilities: There was only one outdoor restroom available, and its lock was broken, forcing us to hold the door shut while using it.
Overall Impressions: While the location and ambiance have potential, the lack of proper management and support for staff was glaringly apparent. This could be a much better experience with improved organization, maintenance, and adherence to advertised amenities. Unfortunately, it did not meet the standards expected for the price we paid.
I wouldnât recommend The Fred at this time unless significant...
Read moreI was excited to try the revamped menu and had high hopes that the Fred was back! Letâs start with the positives. The staff are great and very friendly, the views are amazing, and the place was clean. Now about the food ⌠I ordered the Steak Fajitas, listed on the Menu for $22. The actual price however was a whopping $31. Despite no mention on the Menu, there is a $9 up charge for the Steak (Shrimp is probably even more!). The Fajita was overwhelmed with acidic bottled Lime Juice, raw Cumin, and Salt ⌠leaving a very funky aftertaste that we drowned with Alvinâs hot sauce. The steak was cooked into another dimension as too was the Rice. We were the only people dining there and I now see why. You can revamp the Menu but when the Prices are Made Up, and the Food is Subpar, why would any local want to eat here?! I will hold out hope that the Fred can get it together but I will be staying away and eating at the other spots out West for...

The service here is exceptional. Our server was attentive, yet not intrusive. We never had to ask anything twice!
The Ambiance
This restaurant has one of the best ambiance. Whether eating upstairs or downstairs, you will be surrounded by beauty and charm. It's the ideal place to relax and dine or celebrate with your friends.
The Food
The menu has an extensive variety of options. I really enjoyed eating freshly caught lobster in butter sauce.
The Drinks
Hands down, some of the most delicious margaritas I've had! The Guava and Pineapple Margaritas are a must try! Like literally run, don't walk. đ
