So my girlfriend and where on the road early to start the last leg of our Epic roadtrip of the summer. It was roughly around 0530 in the morning and we were looking for a place to eat and thought of two common diners that we expected to find easily. However, the closest one for one of the establishments was over 13hours away and the other was "closer" being about 2 hours away. So we looked to see what was close by and we found this diner in Fredonia KS and it was 3mins away from where we were. We get there and have this feeling that this place was warm, welcoming, and friendly. To cut to the chase, we were both surprised that we stayed there for about 2 hours because in that time the locals befriended us, the owner/head cook engaged with us in conversation, the locals just treated us like locals even though we were perfect strangers! This place is worth coming out to enjoy the incredible food and the awesome town of...

My wife asked what do you want to do for lunch and I said, "I want to sit down at a lunch counter somewhere downtown and chat with the guy cooking my burger" As soon as we walked in I knew we were in the right place. Rory, the owner, knows everyone who walks in and anticipates their orders. We had an excellent hot ham and cheese sandwich and lemonade for 10 bucks. Nice guy, good food. If you find yourself close to Fredonia don't miss The...

We met Captain Kirk who was from California, was living a few miles up the road from Fredonia, soon building a hose in Grove OK on Grand lake. Was an all around...
