Cherry's Caribbean Palace - Jamaican and Soul Food Bethlehem PA — Restaurant in Freemansburg

I've been ordering here for years because the food is amazing but today is my last time. I usually go to the restaurant in person but today placed a GrubHub order. I received a call from Grubhub and the rep informed me the restaurant couldn't prepare the meal I ordered but couldn't exchange the meal unless I gave verbal conset. So I said that was okay and I was willing to be put on a 3 way with the restaurant to let them know I was okay with changing what I ordered. When the Grubhub rep added the woman from the restaurant on to the call and informed her of what was happening she had the nastiest attitude and began yelling into the phone "People keep ordering things that aren't on the menu! I can't make what I don't have! Don't order things that aren't available!" At this point she wasn't even aware that I was on the phone. The Grubhub rep then informs her that I the customer am on the phone and can hear her and she continues to yell and complain about customers and says "I canceled the order it doesn't matter". I politely informed her that on Grubhub it didn't specify that the meal I ordered was unavailable and that it must be an issue through the app and I'd be willing to change to something else. She replies "I already canceled it!" and hangs up on us. I couldn't imagine eating another meal from someone filled with such vitriol towards customers over a simple mistake. It digusted me and I'll never eat here again. If that's how she responds when she thinks customers can't hear her I can only imagine what else she says behind...

Ms Cherry is an amazing person. Her food is authentic jamaican food. I had the oxtails with white rice and cabbage with a side of jerk chicken. The oxtails were tender and flavorful and cooked to perfection. The gravy was amazing. I just wish I had more in my plate. I know oxtails are expensive so I dont mind paying the price. I had about 3 full pieces so I think I could have had more. The cabbage was cooked and seasoned excellently but could have been more in the plate. Im used to it falling out the sides at other places. The jerk chicken was AH-MAZING. The spice the kick it was spot on. Loved it. The chicken was dry seemed like it was reheated but it was still the bomb dry and I still ate it all. So you know it was good!!!! Ms Cherry is sweet woman. Her son works with her. It's not sit down you order through a window. They have seating outside. The street is under construction but they are open. Go here you will not be disappointed. The food is amazing and the service is top notch. And more importantly you will be supporting a local small business. I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend...

I ordered a oxtail plate with rice& peas and cabbage and a Jerk chicken plate with Mac & cheese and collard greens. Oxtails wasn’t bad it just wasn’t what I was expecting from a Jamaican spot. The rice were over cooked and bland. I’m quite sure the cabbage went bad. As for the jerk chicken plate, the chicken was dry and over cooked. I don’t know if something can be spicy and bland at the same time but that’s my best explanation for the jerk chicken. I was expecting baked Mac and cheese and what I got deff wasn’t that. The Mac and and cheese were over cooked, mushy and lacked seasoning. Collard greens were also a disappointment. This was my first visit to Cherry’s and also the last. Based on the other reviews I had high hopes for this please but it was a big disappointment and $30 gone. Both plates ended up in the trash, they were basically inedible sad to say because they were so nice and I was banking on a overall great experience. I wish the food lives up to Cherry’s warm personality but unfortunately it’s a No for me. I do wish them...
