La Mexicana Bakery & Taqueria — Restaurant in Fresno

I came in today to have some tacos from this hidden gem in a Fresno. The owners of the restaurant are great family friends, and have catered many events for my loved ones over the years, and are simply fantastic and consistent. Everyone in staff provides outstanding customer service, as well as piping hot fresh food. For a restaurant that is very simple, they make up for it with great flavor and generous portions. Their carnitas are killer, asada, and the crispy tripas are to die for! Their tacos dorados (crunchy tacos) are also perfect with some pico de gallo. If you're ever in the neighborhood don't hesitate to stop by and check this place out, you won't regret it!!

I had this wonderful company cater my wedding of 180 people, and Victor and his staff did a phenomenal job! They arrived promptly, provided outstanding service, and the food was a home run!!!! They started off with appetizer of homemade tortilla chips, chicharrón, and tacos dorados with pico de gallo on top. After the appetizers, they started the line for the tacos. They served carnitas, carne asada, chicken, and veggie tacos for my vegan/vegetarian guests, and it was above my expectations on flavor and overall experience. I highly recommend them for catering because their sole purpose is making sure their customers are truly satisfied from start to finish. Everyone at my wedding reception was raving about how fresh everything was, and how quick they were taking orders as well. If you want 5 star catering with the royal treatment, La Mexicana is the way to go, no questions asked!! Food was amazing it made up for the customer service that there was one lady with short hair. that was just giving us his dirty looks. I don’t know if that’s just her face or how she is but other than that everything in the location was great. We just ignored her. I think she got kind of pissy because my auntie asked for a taste of the Chicharron and she said oh we are selling them like OK we’re sorry sorry for asking. We just wanted to sample it. We didn’t end up buying them cause she didn’t let us sample it but if she probably would’ve let us sample it we probably would’ve been like. Hey, we’ll take a whole lot The guys were just so nice when they took our orders we ordered six Mens And some hard tacos. The food was amazing. All my family loved the Menudo. The prices were amazing I was taken there by my crazy Tia Anna. She knew a lot of them there. The owner to the location was very nice. He even gave us some free Carnitas to taste. Oh my gosh they were so good or Carnitas over a hard taco anytime. Never had it like that, but it was amazing. Like I said the prices were amazing very cheap and everything was so stuffed. We had called this place regarding catering a week prior to us stopping by to try the food. The gentleman that helped me on the phone was very nice but he lacked a lot of knowledge for basic information. He then promised I would receive a call the next day from management and I have yet to receive a call...this was 3 weeks ago btw. We then decided to drive up from San Diego to try this place. At first glance the place is very run down and not taken care of at all. There's grease and dirt collected from years on the walls all around. Their menu does not display the extensive choices they provide nor do they make it easy to figure out the set up for ordering. The kid that finally took our order was nice enough to explain the menu and all the items they offer. We ordered 1 taco of pretty much everything they offered and I we were extremely dissatisfied with everything. I will give a compliment for their carnitas, only because they were tender and not dry. Other than that all the food lacked flavor, tons of flavor. Once I went up to pay for our check I realized there were flies inside the glass case where all they're meats are served from 🤢🤮.
