We got two oat milk lattes- one iced and the other hot. The cup for the iced latte was made with incredibly cheap feeling plastic, and the straw was flimsy. The cup for the hot latte was not doing its job insulating. The latte was subpar at best. It tasted like coffee flavored oat milk rather than an oat milk latte. When we first walked in, the lights for the display were off. It just felt like management was trying to cheap out in every way possible. It is overall a very nice looking establishment, but there is so much room for improvement.
EDIT (12/13/22): After reviewing the business owners comments- I still stand by my review. The $10 I was robbed of on the terrible coffee here is something I am entitled to be upset about as a customer, but thanks for the suggestion of "thinking twice". As a business, these comments are entirely inappropriate. I'm not one to complain about "everything at any business". I'm specially complaining about THIS business because the quality of the product was so poor it warranted a bad review. On the cup issue- you cannot tell me with a straight face that the quality of the cups or straws used are of the same quality as other larger coffee chains and even other smaller cafes in the area. Do they do the job? Sure, but just barely. Just because no one else has actively complained about the cups doesn't mean it is not something that can be improved upon. The temperature of the latte is not at issue here. It was the right temperature, and instructing your baristas to "check the temperature before serving" and serving lukewarm drinks is not the solution to the issue. The issue is the quality of the cups and the poor insulation. If pricing is not the reason that those cups were chosen, and they were chosen for their so-called industry quality, that's even more concerning. On the issue of the lights- when we walked in the store, there was literally no one else in there except us and the employee at the register, so if the "technical issue" is a lack of customers than yes, completely valid reason for keeping the lights off. In addition, the coffee that was used for our lattes was weak. That was the main reason for my review, and the response doesn't address a remedy for the weak tasting coffee. All I wanted was a good cup of coffee, and the coffee here tasted BAD. We couldn't even force ourselves to finish the coffee here. That's how bad it was. As a business you should be able to take criticism and improve rather than getting defensive with customers. This is an incredibly unprofessional...
Read moreI recently had the displeasure of visiting La Creme Bakery Cafe, and I must say, it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. From start to finish, my visit left me feeling unsatisfied and frustrated.
Firstly, upon entering the establishment, there was no one there to greet customers or provide any sort of assistance. It was as if they were completely unaware of our presence. This lack of attentiveness set the tone for the entire visit and made me question the level of service they claim to offer.
Next, I approached the cashier, hoping to find some solace in the friendly demeanor of the staff. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The cashier, a girl who seemed disinterested and unwelcoming, did not make any effort to engage or assist us. Her lack of enthusiasm was evident, and it only further added to the overall unpleasant experience.
To make matters worse, I made a simple request to have my order prepared with less sugar. Instead of accommodating my preference, the bakery cafe had the audacity to charge me extra for the modification. It's astonishing that they would penalize customers for wanting a healthier option. This pricing tactic felt like a blatant cash grab and left a sour taste in my mouth.
Finally, the coffee itself was a major letdown. It lacked any distinct flavor or complexity, and I couldn't help but feel that I could have easily made a better cup of coffee at home blindfolded. It was a mundane and unimpressive beverage that left me questioning why I even bothered paying for it in the first place.
Overall, my experience at La Creme Bakery Cafe was extremely disappointing. The lack of customer service, unwelcoming attitude of the cashier, the unnecessary additional charge for a simple request, and the underwhelming coffee all combined to create an unpleasant visit. I would not recommend this cafe to anyone looking for quality service, friendly staff, or a decent cup of coffee. Save your time and money, and go to sunmermoon or just about any other coffee shop in Frisco - it'll be far better than anything you'll find here. I don't see this place staying open for...
Read moreI'm not one to typically write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my extraordinary experience with La Creme for two significant reasons.
Recently, my family and I were preparing for a high school graduation party. We had ordered a cake from a home baker, who, unfortunately, used butter in the cake. As we were transporting the cake to the event center, the sweltering Texas weather caused it to melt. The situation was beyond embarrassing, especially since we had committed to providing the cake for such an important occasion.
In a panic, I called a friend who recommended La Creme. I explained our predicament and asked if they could assist on such short notice. The owner's response was nothing short of gracious. Despite having only three hours to work with, he was willing to accommodate my needs in terms of design and flavors. He confidently assured me about the flavor and taste but candidly explained that the color and other aesthetics might not meet our explicit needs due to the time constraint.
Throughout the process, he was in constant touch, providing updates and reassurances. When I went to pick up the cake, I was astonished; it was beyond my expectations. La Creme had done an amazing job on such short notice.
Now, about the taste—it was sublime! I was genuinely surprised at how quickly and professionally they managed to create such a delightful cake. The owner even took the time to discuss what might have gone wrong with the previous cake, comparing the differences between a home baker with a brief crash course and a professional trained under a seasoned French baker.
I wholeheartedly recommend La Creme, not just for coming to our rescue but for the exceptional quality and taste they delivered. Their understanding, expertise, and willingness to go above and beyond have made me a customer for life. Thank you, La Creme, for turning what could have been a disaster into a...
