Jamaican Jerk Hut & Island Scoops — Restaurant in Fruitland Park

This small family-owned restaurant in Fruitland Park (Florida) is the perfect lunch date location. There are maybe 12 tables at the Jamaican Jerk Hut & Island Scoops. My wife and I have been several times. This visit included ordering a small beef soup for my wife and I got a Jamaican beef patty to start. The main course was curry chicken with cabbage and rice for the wife. I selected the jerk pork with mac-and-cheese and collard greens. My wife had water and I wanted a Sprite. The chef’s touch is a hit. Every bite is filled with flavor – the greens alone are off the charts. We saved portions of each meal on purpose, so that we could have dessert. I had the Oxtail, mac n cheese and collards... my husband had the ribs cabbage and rice and peas.... everything was so flavorful, fresh and juicy!!! The owner is such so sweet and made our experience feel as if we was at an aunties house. Def coming back and bringing my fam and friends 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

Who sells dinners and rice isn't included with the meal but instead has to be purchased as a side SMH Secondly the oxtails tasted terrible like someone rushed to cook them and the Mac and Cheese was dry my fiance said the young lady at the counter was very shrewd and short with her words but she believes it was because they were overwhelmed with food orders and the kitchen didn't have enough food prepared so they were out of a lot things and recooking more food.
