I always go to get their pizza. It's always hot and nom. 😀
Only gripe I have is...management needs to watch the student employees more closely to make sure that they're not trying to close early while customers are still present. Open til 10 means open til 10 not before. If a customer walks in the door at 9:55, well...yah I know. But you have to serve them. That's just the way it goes. I've worked a number of restaurants in my life and at every one we'd get reprimanded if we tried to stack chairs or close sections before then, and NEVER near customers. Only in closed sections far away. This happens quite a bit at Hunters Crossing. I've myself arrived more than an hour before closing and by 9:30 they're stacking tables loudly right next to me and I'm wondering if I should be sheltering my food from any particulates possibly made airborne by the rapid way they're flipping those chair legs. Not to mention the guilty feeling this puts upon you making you wonder if they're mad at you because you haven't finished by 9:30 and made your way out the door so that they can leave and get that all so important party or something. You get this "cats away the mice will play" kind of feeling whenever it happens - like management isn't present the day that they're trying that. Kids want to be treated like adults but they like to take shortcuts in responsibility which means that we adults have to still watch over their shoulders anyway. Management should check security cams from home near closing time to catch this. (A lot of restaurants should do this in fact. It's not isolated to just Piesanos. Students pull this sort of thing everywhere they work.) Teach student workers that the SOP manual always comes first, not them. If they can't handle...
Read moreI got the Grilled Shrimp Alfredo To Go and it really upset my stomach because of all the parmesan and fat. I am not lactose intolerant and have been eating dairy without any GI discomfort for the past 21 years. The dish smelled so strong of butyric acid (the stuff inside parmesan that gives that vomit smell) and that's how I knew there must have been a lot of parmesan in it. I also believe that my stomach was upset because of all the fat in the sauce. I understand the importance of using fat to add flavor to Italian pasta dishes but this was almost extreme. The sauce was full of fat (perhaps butter?), it made me too sick to eat the pasta. It lacked NO depth, no spice (i.e. garlic flavor), no salt, no pepper - I felt like I was eating vomit smelling cardboard. The shrimp mixed in was good quality but it too lacked any salt or spices as well. Feeling terrible that I had barely eaten a $20 dish, I went home to cook it on my stove top to try to get rid of the fat. I placed the pasta and sauce in a stove top pan, adding NO OIL OR BUTTER, only water. I let it cook down and there was so much oil in the pan, glossed all over the pasta, almost forming its own "sauce". I poured out the excess oil as much as I could. There was at least a tablespoon, if not more of oil. Even then, to make it edible, I had to add lots of spices (Trader Joes 21 seasoning, salt, parsely, garlic powder) and some balsamic vinegar. Overall, I was really unhappy with my purchase. This is my first review of any food place, I never write reviews but I was disappointed with the quality of food. I recommend adding less parmesan and fat to the sauce and adding...
Read moreI’m visiting Florida for the weekend and decided to stop by. Entering the building, the smell is fantastic. The environment is very pleasant and friendly towards my group of friends in a big group of 11.
The garlic bread rolls were great but a little strong in the vinegar aftertaste. A lot of oil/garlic.
Our server Gabe is very pleasant, and got our orders and food at an appropriate time.
My complaint started at the entrees. The chicken carbonara in the picture below. The chicken had too much seasoning and a strong salty taste. The pasta was bland and didn’t taste very good. The Parmesan cheese shaker available on the table tasted like it’s been there for a while and was going stale. Terrible addition to my meal. I tried washing the food down with water but it actually made it worse. I was really hungry but It tasted like I was eating plastic and couldn’t do it.
I got another server to get Gabe and was going to ask Gabe to get my check because I had to start my five and a half hour drive back. I was hoping he got the hint but when he came back and asked if I wanted a box for my food, I clearly didn’t eat any of it and even told him I didn’t like it. Guess he didn’t hear it because I did tell him as he was walking away to get my check…with a pasta I still had to pay for!
In conclusion, terrible experience and not even the servers fault to a certain extent. But I will not be returning when I come back next year.
PS. I never got my la...
