Black Elm Coffee — Restaurant in Gallatin

I normally don’t leave reviews but I wasn’t very impressed when I stopped here for a quick Latte to-go. It was about 8:10am. There was 1 person ordering in front of me and a few others sitting at tables. I put my order in and then waited as at least 10 others cam in behind me to order. The one barista served others behind me fresh drip coffee, heated muffins and quiche, all while making me and the customer in front of me wait. I tired hard to be patient. She mixed more iced drinks and took more orders. I waited 20 minutes for my 8 oz hot latte, it was barely lukewarm when i get it out to my car. And the flavor was not there. This is a small local place that I’ve supported before but today they missed the mark big time. Sadly I won’t be back...

I love supporting local coffee shops so I decided to try it out! The Cuban coffee was excellent. My only wish is that it was served in a real mug. Not paper. Same with the breakfast we ordered. The Standard breakfast sandwich had lots of flavor and I would probably order it again if I come back. The one thing I noticed that is definitely lacking is cleanliness. The front door and windows are just filthy. The trash can lid by the door doesn’t look like it’s ever been wiped down. People want to be in a clean space …. Great local chain to get a cup of coffee. Things you should know: I. PARKING Black Press is within a plaza and shares a free parking lot with adjacent businesses. Easy. II. SERVICE Polite and friendly. I like that they have sugar free syrup options and that they do latte art here. Also, they conveniently have outlets everywhere so you camp out and work on your laptop. III. QUALITY Don't judge a book by it's cover. Although the plaza is old, Black Press did such a wonderful job renovating the interior of the cafe.
