Took a chance and tried this place for the first time, and unfortunately for us it will be our last as well.
Atmosphere - the inside is nice and feels clean, but it was so unbelievably loud. There is some outside dining for those who need that in their life, and there’s a full bar with seating.
Food - we ordered the carne asada and the chilaquiles. The carne asada, like everywhere else in Tennessee it seems, was a cheaper cut of meat cooked on the flat top but they did cook it well and it was tender, so that one was a win! The beans were the best part of the meals. The chilaquiles, however… hard pass. Try literally anything else. It was 100% overcooked. It was way too mushy with dry chewy chicken. The complimentary chips and salsa was also a miss for us.
Service - our server was super nice! But my meal was completely forgotten. My husband finished his plate entirely and we had to call the server over and let him know I’d been missed. He was apologetic but didn’t even offer to take it off the bill. He also did not stay up on the drink refills, and it didn’t look like he was in the weeds. It was just awful service with a smile. I suspect my plate had been forgotten and then microwaved way too hard which just made a bad situation worse.
Please understand, this was our experience. Your experience and your tastes may be completely different and I will always recommend trying a place for your own opinion. I am originally from Utah and spent a couple years in California, so I’m always looking for that more authentic flavor and atmosphere, and this just ain’t it. People seem to really like it and it was pretty packed. If you are originally from here and you like most of the places out here, you will probably...
Read moreI've been in Gallatin for all 30 years of my life, and I have to say this is the best Mexican restaurant in the area or that I've eaten at, period. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, the seats are comfortable. The food is phenomenal. I had the quesadilla Gigante, with shrimp. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, and not overdone. The cheese dip is great if you don't like the kick of normal queso. The salsa is really good and almost tastes like it has a hint of mango in it, very tangy.
We live up the street, so we will see you...
Read moreFollowed some amigos from our regular east Nashville and Madison Mexican favorites to this new restaurant. It's always good to see folks that have treated you well for years.
The food... always good, always fresh, always consistent.
The drinks... cold! I usually drink beer but love the margaritas here.
And the service... you will be treated well here, even parties bigger than 4. I counted 7 tables with parties of 6 or more.
Cheers to Ramon and Alan and their staff for a great dining experience....
