My family and I had Russ as our server, and truth be told, this review is more about him and his service than the actual restaurant.
The food was typical of a Denny's franchise. Obviously, nothing "gourmet", but people go to Denny's for a quick and tasty breakfast, right? Anyone expecting "gourmet" from a Denny's is a fool. In fact, I'd argue that good quality breakfast in a speedy manner is gourmet in its own right, but I digress.
Russ was THE man. I would go as far as to say he was one of the best waiters that I've ever had. Wife and I showed up with 3 very hungry kids. Any of you parents know that sometimes, taking the little ones out to eat can be a chore. Russ was above and beyond and is the epitome of perfect service from a waiter. The guy was friendly, not the "fake" friendly, but genuine.
I wish more people had Russ's attitude, with any job. He seemed genuinely concerned that our experience was 110%. I observed him interact with other tables, and he gave them the same service we received; prompt, courteous, genuine, friendly, all with a "sense of urgency".
Our drinks never went empty, he was great with the kids, and he constantly checked in on us to ensure that our visit was as incredible as his service. Russ's service and work ethic deserve 10/5 stars, easily.
As for the food? Very good. Again, a Denny's is a Denny's. But, the food was actually very good considering it was a Denny's. As with any franchise, the quality you get depends on the people working. The people working here clearly took pride in their work; the food was great, the service was great, and the restaurant was clean overall.
If corporate is reading this, or even management at this particular Denny's is reading this, you are incredibly blessed to have someone like Russ working for you. I hope and pray that you are taking care of him as much as he is taking care of your business and your customers.
I rarely write reviews, but Russ's service was so incredible that I couldn't help but sing praises about him.
To Russ, if you're reading this, thank you so much for service that was so incredible that it will not only remain memorable, but your customer service will be the standard in which I compare future waiters to. Keep it up good sir, your service was beyond stellar, and I wish you absolutely nothing but the best in your future endeavors. However, with your attitude and demeanor? I don't believe you need my well wishes.
Thanks again for such a...
Read moreNo one wanted to seat us when I first walked in, someone from the back eventually yelled “we’ll be right with you!”. Our waitress was nice to begin with, she took our order and said they no longer substitute eggs for hash browns, so I had to order that separately. Got our food and she never came back, when she did come back she took my cup and never brought back a refill. When my mother pointed out that I needed a refill on my raspberry tea, the waitress brought back a regular iced tea that was watered down and a majority of the beverage was ice, I drank about 2 good gulps before the drink was empty again. I didn’t notice the drink was regular iced tea until I was done with the drink because I was so parched it didn’t matter at that point. The waitress and her group of friends were side eying us the entire time and laughing until my mom made eye contact with them, then they stopped laughing. If the drinks are limited, then please say so or please remove the “endless drinks” off the menu and price accordingly. The staff were all very unprofessional, bossing each other around and getting mad about who’s cleaning up which table. Our waitress kept picking on another lady about the places she missed while sweeping. On our way out, we told the lady who was cashing us out what had happened. She asked if we wanted a raspberry iced tea to go and we accepted, just for her to do the same thing. When I got into the car, the drink was extremely...
Read moreI would encourage anyone who is considering eating here to find somewhere else to eat. This Denny’s earned a 5+ on the suck scale. I ordered the American Slam … a very popular meal anytime of day. I ordered sourdough bread with my meal … my hubby got the pot roast. When our food came out … my meal was barely warm … obviously had been sitting probably waiting on the pot roast. They were waiting on my sourdough toast and brought it after they brought the meals. My sourdough was really white bread and one slice wasn’t even toasted … it was cold so not sure what they were waiting on. When I asked for another slice toasted… it took asking a second time for it … they brought 2 more slices of white bread … they were both toasted this time but this time only one had butter on it. While waiting to ask for our check … which took about 15 minutes or so … we watched food coming out of the kitchen … no warming lamps… I saw food sit for at least 10 minutes while waiting for the rest of the order to come up … there was an entire order (sitting on a serving tray) that sat there the entire time were waiting on our check and was still sitting there when we left. I felt sorry for whoever’s order it was. There was no sense of urgency in the kitchen and one of the cooks was wearing his mask around his neck … and there was no manager to expedite the orders. So you can eat there if you really want but don’t expect decent...
