We made a sweet stop at Mel’s Ice Cream after lunch, and it was the perfect cherry on top of our day. We went for Rocky Road and Butter Pecan, and let me tell you—these scoops were no joke. I actually had to ask them to stop scooping. I’m not even kidding. I was like, “Okay that’s enough, I swear I can’t finish all that!” Huge, generous servings that made me feel like a kid again.
The Rocky Road was rich, chocolatey, and packed with gooey marshmallows and crunchy nuts—just how it should be. And the Butter Pecan? Creamy, buttery, and full of that toasted pecan flavor that makes you close your eyes and go “Mmm” with every bite.
The shop itself is cozy and nostalgic, like the kind of place you’d ride your bike to during summer break. No frills, just old-school charm and really good ice cream. Everyone there was super friendly, and the whole vibe just felt happy and easy.
If you're ever in the area and craving a real treat, Mel’s is a must. Next time I might bring a second stomach—or at least someone...
Read moreThe terrible customer service reviews at this place are valid. Went there today after reading them on the chance that it might have improved, but instead was confirmed. I called this morning to ask what time they serve breakfast until and the person who answered said it's served all day. So I drove 45 minutes only to be told rudely when I got there they had NO breakfast menu items because they were out of eggs. Really? You couldn't have mentioned that on the phone when I called? Yep, that really happened. And there were only 2 people working so it's not hard to figure out the one who I talked to on the phone is the one that said they're out. And then to say rudely just makes it all that much better. You aren't gonna be met with a smile or a "thank you for coming in" at this place, that's for sure. I think a good training course in customer service would benefit this place, you know....try smiling once in a while when you're working with your customers, it...
Read moreThey don't do hot pastrami, but they charge $11.50 regardless, clerk rudely refused my debit card without even considering it, and acted like we don't do business (i have a sticker on my brokerage visa for security). Front door says bathroom for customers only, but i didn't even see a trash can inside or outside for my basket. Theres nothing for miles a round, i imagine if you needed ti use the bathroom and walked in you might buy something occasionally. But yeah i drive by alot and always see people eating ice cream,my smoothie was good but they really just make you choose from an icebox and have noidea how its gonna turn out. Thankfully pineapple and strawberry wasnt crazy, but they got some flavors people could easily make something nasty with, clerk probably gets kicks from it. I think its extreemly overprices and nothing but a landmark location managed...
