This place has been through many owners. Seen good and bad days. This place used to be better! But now, not so much. Careful Folks! They don't listen to customers. At all. How can you stay open if you don't listen? And I really like the owners, just not most of their business decisions. Don't get me wrong, this is not a review to say this place is the worst,. No. This place just needs improvement. That's what I'm doing here. Let's review .. I am a professional marketing guru and offered to help them signage, menus, marketing materials and social media. Nope. They think they know better. Obviously. that is why there is no one on there. Karaoke? What a joke! I know Karaoke, and have been singing Karaoke for 26 years. They just recently hired a team to come in and host. All was good... We thought. Until management insisted on ruining the vibe and forced the karaoke team to set up backwards, so the singers sing to the tv, not the audience. What the? Wrong! I have been singing karaoke 26 years and have never seen anything so mismanaged! Come on, I am a professional musician and an audio engineer! I can't stand it when bar owners think they know better. Oh, I got yelled at the next week to NOT move tables to make room for the karaoke team and guests before they set up for their Karaoke night. What happened? Customers came in and ended uo moving all the tables to where they wanted, which is where I suggested we move the tables in the first place, of course. I am telling you, they just don't listen. Now, after only 4 weeks, karaoke is cancelled. Of course it is. They did not give the professional karaoke team the benefit of a 12 week chance to pick up. Nor were they even given a chance to do it right by setting up the room correctly. Next: Pool table? You can't play a gentleman's game of pool on that table. The table is not level nor has been leveled since day 1 and there is no brush to clean it. Maintaining a pool table takes work- yet they have no clue... My requests to get it leveled, buy a brush and please get a cue holder: still unheard after 1+ months. Why? Oh yeah, they don't listen. This place won't be open much longer. Beachsiders, you should have listened to me and valued my feedback when you had the chance. Now maybe you you hear me. Sorry to the folks reading this review, as this review used to be so much better before! IT WAS 5 STAR. Now it is not. Sadly, I could go on, but feelings will only get hurt. Oh well. Truth hurts. (I'm still open to helping them with marketing and my other talents. Maybe we can save them before...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey have bartenders. That's as far as it goes on that note. The owner seems to be a few nuggets short of a happy meal. And significantly paranoid. On the rare occasion people stumble in most were pretty alright. As with anywhere, Some were far cooler than others. But overall cute little joint despite it being dismantled more every day. It used to have an outside bar, pool, cornhole, place for live music. Maybe it was awesome before the deconstruction. Also it is Not the best place to order a mixed drink. The staff couldn't tell ya what is even in their signature drinks. The prices are equal to a place with a reason to return and the bartender will literally tell you to pull cash out of the ATM to tip because she makes less shift pay if it's on a credit card. So if you like to watch someone play on their phone, to get something other than what you ordered, and told to use their ATM for tips then this is possibly the place for you. As for me and everyone I know we would much rather spend our money at a place that understands lying cheating and sub par service should NEVER be a best practice. Maybe it is a front for other consumables. But hey you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a prime example of outstanding employees but awful owners. You can say no when someone makes a simple request to purchase a pack of buns (after spending over $300 and tipping over 20% a few nights before). Instead, the owner's response of belittling my wife to tears is why this place will fail. What is more frustrating, my wife never cries over anything, and this womanizing owner successfully did that in under two minutes.
The owner could have said no, but instead, he went off on how he stayed open 2 hours late for us (which he agreed to so we could watch the Stanley cup game) and threw his "favors" in our face.
I never wish ill on anyone and their business, but after having my wife come back in tears, I hope other local businesses snipe the fantastic employees from the toxic ownership. With customer service like this, I will be amazed if they are open in 6 months.
Save your money, and go somewhere else. The Marina will accommodate your needs and go above and beyond to earn...
