I love Sam’s corner. I really do. Like many of these reviewers, I’ve also been coming here since they opened, over 30 years. I came when I was younger; I bought my kids when they were little, and, on a recent visit in September, I ran in to grab a hotdog. I found myself a solo customer. That was totally fine. I was going to eat my hotdog and read a little bit. And the place hasn’t changed. It’s fabulous and festive with the old fortuneteller machine in the back. The barstools have a facelift and are coated with nice new red material. But the layout remains, which is wonderful.
Here is my issue: and this is why it is not five stars. My hotdog seemed like it had been overcooked or just sitting out for a while. I was the only customer. So I wasn’t expecting something super fancy, but if you take a look at the pictures, the hotdog was a bit… Underwhelming. I love slaw and chili, and that was plentiful, but the dog itself seemed like it was a bit… Older, like it has been cooked and sitting there, almost like the ones you find in a gas station rotisserie. So, Sam’s, I’m hoping you can step up your hot do game. Something nicer and juicier would be great in the future! Perhaps they were just having an off-day with a chef. I’ll see what happens when we return in...
Read moreExtremely disappointed! I’ve gone to Sam’s corner every year since a child when vacationing here. It has always been a wonderful experience until today😔. Today I ordered our meal and asked the lady at the register for a cup of tap water for my two young children 2 and 6 to share. The lady gave me a cup filled with ice and forgot to fill it with water. When I took it back to the counter and asked her to fill it, some young girl with a buzzed hair cut took the cup from the other lady who was about to fill it and said to me we don’t serve tap water here and that I would need to buy a bottle of water and threw my cup out. I said it was for my young kids and asked the girl if she was serious because I have never witnessed such rudeness and arrogance and been denied a cup of tap water in my 30 years of vacationing here. Her response to me was “Oh well”….The attitude this girl had was so disrespectful and rude that even the lady on the register apologized to me. If the owner sees this I highly recommend he or she speaks to this employee about her behavior because this type of employee is TOXIC to...
Read more“If you can’t stand the heat, get outta the kitchen” Received the worst service/attitude from a young lady behind the counter last night and her colleagues. I won’t post the names of your staff members but I would be ashamed as a business owner to employe such rude people. We were served cold center corndogs that clearly they were not cooked all the way. We brought it back to the counter to tell them only to be receive rude comments and multiple eye rolls from employees stating “ they all frozen anyways” and “what do you want 2 small ones?” All we simply wanted was a fully cooked hot or heck even warm corndog! I will say we were not the only people to have issues and leave thinking WTH?! Clearly the employees were in a hurry to leave, closed the flat top while people were still in line waiting to order, yelling “We’re Closed” while making her way to snatch the sandwich board from out front. Camera/Audio from tickets 400 to close will show your problems as a business owner! 4th of July evening or not employees are a direct reflection of...
