Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Garden City

I learned about Sonic Drive-In while on a trip to Garden City 40 years ago. I have come back to Garden at least once a year since and always go to the Sonic on Jones a few times during my 3 week visit. I have been there 3 times this trip and have been sadly disappointed each time. The first two trips they didn't get our orders right, which we discovered after we got home. Tonight I pulled in and pressed the button and an employee came out to the car and said the speaker wasn't working. I started to place my order with her, I was there to get 6 milk shakes. She said, "Oh we aren't doing ice cream right now." and turned to walk away. Then she stopped and said, "I think we're cleaning them or we're out." I left and drove across town to the other drive-in I got what I wanted with very friendly service. Sonic is still my favorite drive-in, but the one on Jones will never get another dime from me. The person taking the order couldn't hear what we were saying at all. Had to repeat stuff several times and when the order finally came, it was wrong even though they had repeated it back correctly. One drink was wrong, one drink was missing, and no marinara sauce even though that was correct on the ticket. Told the carhop that there were issues, and she got the missing drink and that was all she would do. Pressed the button again to ask for additional assistance to fix the other issues and still could not hear what was being said. Asked for a person to come out and that took awhile. The person was very nice and went back in to fix issues. We waited 10 to 15 minutes and the fixed drink and marinara never came. We had to push the buttons a 3rd time and ask for it yet again before we finally got the marinara and fixed drink. Totally...

We waited at a stall for over 15 minutes before we asked a random employee leaving work if they were open. He told us the stalls weren’t running. No had told us for over 15 minutes. We went to the drive thru to order and they had just closed the grill down 5 min prior so our kids didn’t get what they wanted. Had we been told that they weren’t using the stalls either by sign or message, they could have. Staff was rude, especially tatanya saying “I can’t believe you didn’t figure it out” that implies that she saw us or heard us trying to ring in.
