This place is delicious! And it is always filled with people. I've been here about 4-5 times, and it never disappoints. GREAT atmosphere with clever sayings on the walls, shipwreck decorations, and tvs on. It really has a buzz of fun people and good food. AND you get a bib because you eat with your hands, straight off the table. No utensils are given. I love the messy experience. I've had the cajun fries (which are to die for--I love fries), the fried catfish, and the shrimp. I recommend the whole shebang, in medium (which is a bit spicy). The shrimp is fresh, and succulent, and the waiter service is always efficient, despite the full restaurant and long wait outside. How much you order depends on many fries you eat. The basket of fries is enough for 2-3 people as a side dish, so keep that i in mind. When I went with my family, we ordered 3 pounds of shrimp, one catfish basket and one cajun fries and we came out quite content. The price is great too! You can honestly eat for $10-$12/person, which is amazing for a seafood meal. My only problem with this place is that it is ALWAYS crowded--I've been here on a wed, thurs, fri, and sat and the wait is at least 30 minutes. And you can't make reservations or save seats. They're very strict about seating people if their party isn't there, so don't bother. But in all honesty, the wait is...
Read moreI am a seafood lover. I have eaten at different The Boiling Crab locations, at Claws, at The Kickin' Crab, etc. But the food at this particular The Boiling Crab location (14241 Euclid St., Garden Grove, CA) tastes the worst! After the first taste of the sauce mix, I was afraid to get more sauce into the shrimp I was peeling. It's not the spice that bothered me, but the complete lack of taste in general. My first thought was "It's awful!". My second thought was "The chefs and kitchen helpers got sick so the servers are cooking". My third thought was "Why is this place still running?". Isn't the sauce supposed to be the best part: to give your taste buds the greatest satisfaction while your brain says "I should go on a diet tomorrow"? Because my mom was eating with me (and the adult hates to waste food), I could only hope for the shrimp and mussels to disappear quickly so I wouldn't have to eat any more. It was my first time having such disgust and dislike for The Boiling Crab-style seafood. Of course, I am just speaking of my experience at this particular location and not others. I hope this is just a one time occurrence and I will give this place a second try (may be just 1lbs to test?). But if it does not improve, then it will be on my list of...

Waitress and all servers extremely friendly! Food was great as well.
Took my fitness wedding band off to clean it and left it on the menu on the table, off of the paper trash sheet. Within 10 minutes realize I left it and called as well as drive back there. They said it probably got thrown away and they would look for it so I left my number. I should have waited since they said they would look at that moment.
I get a call 20 minutes later (who knows how much more trash was piled on) from a young sounding woman who claimed she was the person to clean our table. She said she even saw my ring but didn’t know it was a ring (uhhhh how? It’s rose gold/pink and in the shape of a ring and was set aside on the menu?!). She said she could not look through the trash until she was off work and she would do it if I wanted her to. Yes, of course I want you to that’s why I drove back and called and left my number!!! She didn’t sound like she wanted to even help. So she calls 30 minutes after they close (about an hour after we left the restaurant) claiming she looked through 6 or 7 trash bags and couldn’t find it.
I wonder if she gave the same customer service she would want if she had lost her cell phone or a...
