★☆☆☆☆ Disappointing Service and Attitude
I visited the Urban Location boba shop in Garden Grove on August 11, 2024, around 6 PM, and had a frustrating experience. The cashier, Jessica, seemed visibly unhappy to be working and her negative attitude set an unwelcoming tone from the start.
Things went from bad to worse when my drink arrived without the boba pearls I had ordered. When I pointed this out, Jessica became defensive and insisted I hadn't ordered them, essentially accusing me of being mistaken. Instead of finding a solution, like offering to add the boba for an extra charge, she created an unnecessary confrontation.
As a long-time boba enthusiast, I understand mistakes happen. However, the unprofessional handling of the situation and the cashier's confrontational approach left me feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied.
The shop clearly needs to improve its customer service training. Employees should be equipped to handle discrepancies calmly and prioritize customer satisfaction. Management might also want to check on their staff's job satisfaction, as it's directly impacting the customer experience.
I cannot recommend this location based on my experience. I hope the management addresses these issues to improve the overall customer experience...
Read moreThis place has recently became my top #1 place to go for both boba and food. Though, Sharetea is still the best boba place in my opinion. I haven’t tried lots of milk teas yet just because I had a bad first impression with Jasmine Milk Tea. It tasted exactly like powdered milk and it was yucky. I almost had to throw the whole cup away. Regular house milk tea was a lot better.
Compared to other boba shops with their standard toppings, I like their crunchy and cheese balls here. Crunchy balls are not literally crunchy, it’s just a very chewy, jelly-like ball, about the size of a real cheese ball. And cheese balls are just tiny cups of jelly with cheese inserted inside.
Honestly, I think boba and fries are always a good combination. I love their cheddar fries here. It’s so good, I always want to go back for another batch.
I came here a couple times already and the service was good enough. Had a few acts of unprofessionalism here and there but they weren’t that bad. One time I asked for a cup of ice, and one of the workers showed an unpleasant face as if I came into their shop just to drink water or something. Another time, I heard 2 of the female workers talking about how I knew Vietnamese but ordered in English. Like WHY DOES IT MATTER?? Anyway, I’ll...

My sister and I used to come here way back when they first opened and are very impressed by their improvement and remodeling. Their menu has a great variety of drinks to pick from. I recommend getting any of the fruit teas because they come with actual fruit bits and are super refreshing! What makes this shop stand out from the others is that they also offer a large range of food and snacks.
Popcorn Chicken: 9/10 - super crispy and their dipping sauce is so delicious! Lychee Green Tea: 8/10 - not too sweet and love the additional toppings
Not only are the workers nice, but the interior decoration is immaculate. it has a very urban and fun vibe that makes it unique from all the other boba shops. This is one of the best places to go to for studying because there are plenty of benches and tables to sit at. I also really like that they offer an option to call and order ahead so that it'll be ready to pick up. A super smart business tactic!
Be sure...
