Jay Bee's Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Gardena

Ok the food is delicious but the cashier yesterday gave out bad customer service! I guess something was going wrong with the cash register to where the cashier was cancelling and voiding orders, so when I ordered my food the order never made it to the back. Mind you I eat here quite often and I know to stay close to hear my number. I was number 79 and they were on number 83 so I'm wondering where is my food and why haven't I been called. The cashier tells me that I ordered a long time ago and that they don't give out free food! I asked to speak with a manager and she tells me to come back in morning at 11. Mind you I just paid for a combination plate that came out to $18.00. I wasn't going to leave without my money back or my food. She was quite rude and I felt like she thought I was lieing about ordering my food. The fact that she wasn't trying to help was the problem and showed no care for me having my two babies with me as well. Yes I got upset but the cook in the back fixed my ordered and I left. Easy to miss little dive BBQ joint RIGHT next to Sepulveda Boulevard if taking kids be aware Sepulveda is a fast & busy Street/Highway, that said upon arrival at about 10:55 there was already a small line waiting, the barbecue itself, I had pork ribs, were very good the sauce was not very overpowering sour or sweet with a nice Smoky flavor, ordering the "hot" sauce was not hot at all but had good flavor, if I'm in the area again I'll give their extra hot sauce a try, baked beans were really good again not too strong on the ketchup taste & smoked very well the macaroni salad also very good & flavorful not too saucy, satisfying. As for the service I've heard and read bout i.e rude, slow 4 me personally it was good the cashier is old school she takes care of business, polite, courteous, attentive and a sense of humor she handles more than just taking orders she keeps the waiting area clear and seems to keep an eye out on the running of the business in general. There are no restrooms that I saw, they do take credit and debit cards seating is on metal park benches just outside & covered and it is handicap accessible a wheelchair would take some maneuvering to get in the door but with my walking aids easy enough. The Lady answering the phone needs to learn Customer service and how to talk to people. I called to place an order and was cut off mid way through sentence and told to hurry up since she had a customer in front of her at the window. Usually when I call other restaurants I'm told to please hold if they are busy. Lol. I ended up forgetting a few items due to me being rushed. I get to the restaurant and lady tells me to wait outside and it's only one person in at a time. I completely understood with all the restrictions due to covid. While waiting in the car she allows a man inside while someone was already inside. I was confused but waited patiently without a problem. I have been coming here a while and the last time I came, the same lady was being nasty nice to the woman before me. I will not take away the fact that most of the times I have eaten here the food is always good, but I refuse to spend my money somewhere where the customer service is horrible. Good food or not you can't just talk to people any kind of way. It's okay to be kind and friendly. If you are having a bad day, stay or go home.
