Paloma needs to take a class on how to provide good customer service. I was a first-time potential customer that was trying to place a cupcake order for my upcoming wedding. I was kind, transparent, and provided any and all requested information from the inquiry form. However, I did not receive the same kindness in return. I mentioned that my fiancé has a nut allergy, and Paloma stated that she was an "allergy-friendly" bakery but not allergen-free which was fine. Allergen -friendly bakeries have the ability to use alternative ingredients or eliminate them for specific customer orders. Because of this, I stated that I wanted to ensure my order of cupcakes would not use any ingredients such as almond oil and nuts. Ultimately, Paloma was mostly dismissive within her email responses to me, but I was still willing to proceed as I understand bakeries get busy and didn't want to hold that against her. In the end, her final response was, "That would depend on the flavors you pick. But like I mentioned in an earlier email I would recommended an allergen free bakery. I don't take orders for such highly sensitive allergies." It would have been helpful if she stated that firsthand upon my inquiry or if she had this statement visually seen on her website. I'm glad that I did not work with this woman, because her attitude would have caught my hands. Maybe I need to take a class on how to be dismissive...
Read moreI spent $250 on a cake for my shower that I did not even get to unbox and display. If it was recommended to not travel but only a maximum of 20-30 minutes to transport this cake, this should have been suggested and advised up front. I was also told after the fact that the cake’s filling also increased the risk of this happening. I’m not a custom cake decorator and baker. Not once was this told to me during the ordering process. Of course if this was communicated, I would have thanked her for her time and chosen a bakery elsewhere as I knew the venue for my event was further than 30 minutes.. also may have chosen no filing to lower the chances of this happening. The bottom tier has a filling that is like a really jelly like consistency. Instead we were blamed for the cake not making it to its’ destination, and even accused of possibly recklessly driving for the cake to have been in such a manner. Mind you, this cake didn’t even travel the interstate, and the cake had completely slid apart. Thank God I didn’t let this very, very unpleasant experience ruin such a beautiful...
Read moreI have never experienced such unpleasant experience. I picked my cousin cake up for her babyshower. The cake was not able to be used b/c the owner was not clear in her instructions, if the cake should not travel more than 20/30 minutes that should be said upfront. I was told the cake should be refrigerated how is a cake supposed to be be refrigerated when it’s supposed to sit on a dessert table? $250 was spent on a cake that was not eaten or used because. I avoided the highway and rode in the backseat to secure the cake as you can see that didn’t work. We were also not told there would be a jelly filling which enhances the risk of it sliding. Communication is key when running a business, when told how far the cake would have to travel my cousin should have been cautioned that it would not be wise to order from her. This was a terrible experience and ruined the dessert table for her babyshower. I would not recommend this unprofessional...
