In the past this Whataburger has always been a toss up if I'm going to get the extra sauces that I do have to pay extra for but I let that slide every time. Not a huge issue.
Then, maybe 6 months back, I ordered a normal Whataburger, nothing special and when I got home and bit into it, I found there was NO patty. How do you miss putting a party on a burger?? You would think that would deter me from ever buying anything from there again.
Today I decided I would just drive by and pick up a coke. I mean, how could they get that wrong? I drive up to the window and the man that was helping me was obviously trying to feel around for a straw. Then he just hands me my drink and says they're out of straws. Really?? You don't have any straws in the entire store? Not to mention that you're establishment is in a Tom Thumb parking lot. Someone couldn't have just walked over to the store and bought some straws? Also note, they were not busy. I was the only one in line. I honestly just felt like he didn't want to restock the straws at that very moment but who knows.
All that said, mistakes are going to happen understandably but no place of business should be that frustrating...

I have to make sure to taste the soft drinks because the amount of times I’ve sat down and realized that they had served me something resembling soda water is astonishing. Of the past times I’ve ordered through the drive thru, at least 5 times this has happened. I accept human error, i know that we aren’t perfect, but today I had to write a review. I had ordered a double meat burger with bacon. Then, I come home and realize that the burger only had one patty, so i reviewed my receipt to see if it was a communication error but no, it was supposed to be as I ordered, a double meat burger with bacon. This and small things like not wanting ice in the drinks yet they seem to have an abundance of ice and fill my cup to the brim (I suspect to give me less soft drink). [Mario] went above and beyond to ensure my experience was perfect. They were attentive, friendly, and demonstrated a deep knowledge of the menu, offering helpful suggestions that made my meal choice even better. My order was prepared quickly and exactly as requested, and [Mario] made sure to check in on me to ensure everything was to my satisfaction.
